EDEN

Creation; perfect in form
With subtle, brilliant flora--magnificent to behold
With warmth and life abundant; as peace dominates;
And an active cohesion beyond measure.

With great suddenness--not much ado;
The scene was smashed and the strings cut.
Invasion by foreign elements
And he curtain fell.

Yet they danced on--shamelessly;
Without form; self-direction as their guide.
Like puppets, semi-denuded of strings
They performed--imagining their half-cast efforts
To be the cutting edge of reality.

All this
Until the hand of the director
Moved to intervene
And avert the plummet to self-destruction.
