IN DARKNESS

Bright tropical fruits streak the horizon--
Laxation subdues long labored muscles.
Serene zephyrs warmly soothe breath's split run
As the lantern's hood seals on life's rustles.
Chaos grapples unfanthomed depths of thought--
Doubt erupts: contemplate each unsure stride;
Wonder: Is the true path that one he's wrought?
Half of every passed fork remains untried.
Sinking breaks turn back unsought opposures
Screening the mind from humanity's rape.
When those done righteous to turn, then assures
A havening night survival, escape.
Darkness may sever all the webs you've wove;
Although, in darkness, you're ever found lane.
