ODE TO A PARENT

Should she another chance to live
Her teenage years to you she'd give
Wide opened ears and opened mind,
That through your experience she could find
FREE knowledge to save from wondering
Aloof...
And realize through life you told her the truth.

How ashamed she would be from her past life
To know she caused you so much strife
Since everything she thought she knew
Was really only by you.

As she grows older and mature
Have her own children she is sure
In this circle of life from which she came,
Her children will label her with "half a brain!"

But solace is found in knowing the fact:
THE BEGINNING OF THE CIRCLE IS WHERE IT ENDS,
SO EVERYONE EXPERIENCES WHAT HE SENDS.
