THE WORLD TURNED ON

A young man sitting in a wooden rocking chair,
Twiddling his fingers, thinking of his family and home.
Soon the time came, another life in the world,
Time grew old, and the world turned on.

Days and nights passed like seasons in the wind,
He sits and watches, it's here and then it's gone.
Another child grown and goes into the world,
Time grew old and the world turned on.

Now all he has is old faded memories,
As he sits in his home, feeling all alone.
He now wonders when he'll see the kids,
Looking out the window, the world turned on.

An old man sitting in an old wooden rocking chair,
Twiddling his fingers, thinking of his family and home.
Time grew old, and soon the time came,
An old man died and the world turned on.
