THINGS HE CANNOT DO

He cannot catch the stars and put them on a shelf.
He cannot catch a summer breeze and keep it for himself.

He cannot soar as eagles and own the clear blue sky.
He cannot climb a rainbow and watch the world go by.

He cannot wish a wish and know it will come true.
He cannot cast a net and harvest morning dew.

He cannot stop time even though he tries.
He cannot halt the tears of every lonely eye.

All these things he cannot do but only one he can't abide,
That is living through another day without you by his side.
