The Chippendale Toad
She takes her quest along the winding road and searches over land and shadowed vale. The princess thinks a well-dressed horny toad who's taste for Queen Anne chairs and Chippendale instead of mushroom roofs could make a groom. Too, his designer tongue would never fail to make her ooo and ahh in any room: the garden bath, rococo kitchen tile. Her squeals of joy could drown a sonic boom while furniture is shifted by the mile, (and carpet burns are really not a joke!) She'll never french him now, she likes his style, the way he croaks at her and lights her smoke. Besides, baroque-like kisses make her choke. ©2000 Peggy Putnam Owen |
