Here is a photo of me taken in 1999 in my old studio. I have moved since then...I like to listen to music or watch movies, (with good sound tracks), when I paint. I have Lupus. It makes me very sun sensitive, so I paint at night now and sleep in the afternoon. I have had one year of formal training way back in high school. I took all art subjects and english in grade 13. Unfortunatly, there was no class in oil painting : ( which is my speciality), but I still enjoyed it, and I learned a lot. My message for all young artists just starting out is STAY IN SCHOOL! Let them teach you! Most of what I know about painting I have learned from books and trial and error....lots of error. It took a lot longer with no one willing or able to answer my questions around. Learn as much as you can, adapt it to you own style, then you can make it work for you and take it where ever you will. I am still learning...........
I have other intrests. My family and friends and my pets. Gardening and Taekwando. I like Rutger Hauer, (when he is the good guy;) and futuristic/fantasy movies like 'Lady Hawk', and 'Blade Runner'. I like popcorn and prime rib. I like sparkles and feathers. I like music, (but not country! Well, maybe a tiny bit of Willie Nelson, once in a while.) ;) I like Led Zepplin, Beethoven, and Pink Floyd, Tsckaikowski and Queen. I like Puccini... I like the sparkle of the water in the sun/moon light. I like rum and lava lamps and bead curtains :) I play the piano but love the cello?
