The Universality Of Change -- Reincarnative Process In The Same Lifespain

By The Pathwork Guide

Greetings, my very beloved friends. Once again we are gathered together so as to exchange through my giving to you where the need is greatest, and through your receiving where your need is greatest. Thus you fulfill a universal need. This universal need is the constant movement toward expansion. All organisms in the entire created universe move toward that expansion that is innate, that follows the seedplan within the organism.

What is the seedplan? It is truly allowing the Divine Substance to infiltrate all that is. And that Substance is never static. It contains limitless possibilities for being, for expression, and for creative manifestation in literally limitless ways of joyousness, of ecstasy, of wisdom -- to such an extent that it cannot ever be put into the human language. Where this movement is stopped, then a break in consciousness and energy occurs.

On the human level of development, this break manifests in the process of death. But it is only a break. Consciousness and energy are resumed on another level. When you sleep, then there is a break in consciousness on one level, but consciousness continues on another level. So the break is just as illusory -- for it only occurs on the manifest level -- as the fear of movement.

The movement toward expansion implies a willingness to change. This is what we are concerned with at this particular juncture on your path. There is a counter-movement in the human soul, and that is the fear of change. Many of you are capable of connecting with your fear of change. I say to you that it is equally important to connect with the deeper movement, the deeper expression of your soul that constantly moves toward change. Fuller self-expression means change. If there is no change, then there cannot be self-expression.

Let us take this on the physical level so as to demonstrate the principle. A physical organism goes through constant phases and periods of change. That change may at first be so subtle and so gradual that it is hardly noticeable, but cumulatively it becomes very noticeable. So consider the drastic change of an infant growing into childhood, then into adolescence, and later into adulthood. Think of how the physical organs, the body, the whole appearance change in the course of the years from infant to child, to adolescent, to adulthood, to old age. Then a further metamorphosis takes place, but this is already beyond the human vision.

So there are cycles of change which result in atrophy and finally in death if they are hindered. Let us suppose that you put a human organism into such a constricted space that its further organic movements are hindered. It is easy to imagine how this would affect the organism: it would be an anti-life process.

It is no different with the psychic organism, with the spiritual organism, with the mental organism, and with the emotional organism. Yet the human consciousness has created a mass image of very old origin that is so deeply imbedded in the human psyche that it still needs to be eradicated. That mass image says that change is to be feared. This mass image creates a condition in the human psyche that can be likened to a physical restriction which prevents the human organism from its natural expansion. The space provided by the image is so narrow that this natural expansive movement cannot occur.

The belief that this mass image perpetuates is that only an unchanging condition is secure. This mass image is extremely strong and it is so profound in its significance and its effect that it is responsible for the creation of death. For you cannot experience life in any other way than according to your conviction. I have mentioned this many times throughout the years of our contact. But this principle is still vastly overlooked. The tendency still exists to view the world in reverse, or upside down. In other words, you take certain phenomena as if they were the inevitable given facts and then you see their actual cause as the effect of those supposedly given inevitable circumstances, conditions, or facts. In short, you see death as an unknown phenomenon, as an inevitable fact. Then you conclude that your fear of death is the result of this unknown state. In reality your fear of death is the result of the belief that change leads into the unknown, and therefore that it must be feared. The unknown is viewed exclusively as something negative and fearsome.

If you believe that change is fearsome, then in order not to allow change to take place you will atrophy the spiritual and the psychic musculature of your system and you will box yourself into a state of non-movement and of non-expansion in which you can hardly breathe. That is literally, to varying degrees, the human condition. So it is extremely important for you who are the pioneers of the New Age to create the new consciousness within you that does not fear change, that trusts change as a phenomenon that is completely natural, and therefore desirable.

If you examine your consciousness, then you will always find a blind reaction that expresses the belief that you must not move in order not to endanger yourself. Trust in life is just the opposite. You need to begin -- deliberately, intentionally, and consciously -- to conceive of change as a joyful experience, which therefore is desirable. I would like you to remember these words and to imprint them indelibly upon your soul substance. As you do this, then you will no longer halt the natural movement, but you will follow your own fuller self-expression into more unity within, into more peace, into more serenity, into more joy, into more creativity, into more wholeness.

Time is an illusion that stems from the ongoing movement of all that is alive. Time is also a product of the belief that the future must be avoided and that the past must be held onto in order not to cease existing. This is the innate false belief of all mankind. Only when man alters this belief with courage and with faith will the manifestations both of time and of death change -- also in this realm. It always requires courage, the taking of an apparent risk, to have the faith to believe in something new, in something positive. By allowing yourself to flow with the movement of life, you will increasingly -- and within your present lifetime -- expand your positive experience of life. As you gain trust in the universe in which you dwell and in which you operate as an integral part, you will also trust that what now seems mysterious -- although it may actually be mysterious by virtue of being unknown and new -- does not hold any threats for you.

Imagine a lifetime in which there is no fear of death. How would you live? If you are a highly developed, conscious, and God-expressing individual, then the absence of the fear of death in you would mean unending joy. It would mean a fearless existence in which you bring the innate potentials of your Divinity to ever greater expression. But if you are still asleep and if you therefore fear universal life -- and hence expanding, moving, changing into universal life -- then the lack of the fear of death might make you even lazier, and therefore less motivated to move, to develop, and to experience.

I am not saying that the fear of death is given to you as a tool with which to manipulate you into further initiative. What I am saying is that the fear of death -- that you have created through your fear of moving and your fear of changing -- can also become its own medicine. Then it works for you in a self-healing way. I have explained this before as one of the most remarkable manifestations of the benign nature of creation: the evil that is either unwittingly or wittingly created by the individual entities becomes the very agent with which evil heals itself. All self-produced errors -- and the resulting fears, suffering, and negativities -- can, if so chosen, become your means of coming out of that state.

As you grow and you overcome your distrust of change, then you will no longer prohibit yourself from changing, from developing, and from expanding. Then you shall experience the universe and life as intensely trustworthy, as desirable, as beautiful, and as secure. What you had feared in the tomorrow will have become a joyous today. Therefore, what is behind the curtain of so-called death need not be feared, even if it is unknown. Other life experiences that once lay in the unknown future have now become a joyous present. Consequently, now you will also trust the unknown future.

As you cease fearing your future death, this new attitude becomes more known in your innermost being, in your intuitive perception. So as you expand and as you grow, you not only become whole and acclimatized to intense joyous self-expression, but you also completely lose your fear of changing. You begin to visualize change as the most positive, and therefore as the most desirable state possible. Although you may not know exactly how joyous tomorrow can be, your visualization and your emotional climate are one of trust. As a result, you will be eager to move into this change so as to experience yourself in a new and different way, one that is forever more desirable, forever more renewed, forever more alive, forever more interesting, forever more fascinating. As the threat of tomorrow is taken away through your new attitude -- even though tomorrow is not known as yet -- you intuitively experience the non-threatening aliveness of your soul, beyond your physical existence. Thus the fear of death becomes totally eliminated in the person who realizes himself, his God nature, and who therefore does not block the change that is joyfully waiting within every one of his cells -- the physical cells as well as the psychic cells.

So I say to you, my beloved friends, do not halt the movement that is an innate expression of natural life. Allow it to unfold in confidence, for nothing but good can come from it if you visualize it as such. But if you visualize change as bad, then that negative idea must bring it about. So begin to visualize your own change as good, as joyful, as secure, as interesting, as alive, as serene, and as exciting.

For those of you who fully encourage this movement -- who have the courage to encourage it, to not halt it, who have the wisdom to recognize the folly of fearing it -- to those of you I say: you already begin to overcome death. Not only in the sense that I spoke before, that the fearsome unknown ceases to be fearsome and is now trusted -- and therefore is eventually perceived intuitively, a state that as yet you cannot imagine -- but also in another sense. Now I would like to speak about this, for it is a new concept that I have not touched upon before. It is time for you first to comprehend it and then to take it into your consciousness.

The concept and the the truth of reincarnation are taken for granted. There are many theories about it. As you know, as a rule, I am reluctant to speak about past lives or future lives. But there is one phenomenon that I would like to discuss and that is usually either completely neglected or denied in spiritual teachings. A person who is on a path of accelerated development can, and frequently does, literally reincarnate in the same lifetime. Before your incarnation you plan a task for yourself. With the help of spiritual advisors who are equipped to help you in the planning, you plan a certain environment, certain conditions, and certain fulfillments that you set for yourself as a task. There are some human beings who barely arrive at fulfilling this task. Many more return with the task unfulfilled, and therefore have to come back into a new embodiment to try again, perhaps this time with different conditions. This you know, for I have discussed it.

But another phenomenon is also possible. When a human being fulfills the task through such an accelerated path as this, then he is ready to take on a further task that ordinarily would come in a new embodiment after the old body is left behind, and after spending some so-called time not in the body. Thus a new incarnation can be undertaken without leaving the old body behind and creating a new body. This laborious change and this break in consciousness can be eliminated if the personality is truly devoted to giving all of himself to his own fulfillment, to his own expansion, and to his own capacity to change his inherent seedplan -- even the seedplan that would ordinarily be brought to fruition only in what you would term a new incarnation. It can be done within the same life span. The life that would be terminated at an earlier period can then be extended and the new seedplan can be taken out and become the task within this life span. Or, a life that might have continued in very different circumstances -- according to the premises of the old plan -- completely changes in the conditions, in the feelings, in the expressions, in the experiences, in the environment, and in the task. For example, new talents may manifest and old ones may modify, and therefore express themselves differently. Thus a new task fulfillment can take place in the same incarnation.

An intense path such as this one that you have chosen is a very rare one. Most of you can feel when this is possible. Some of you may already connect intuitively with a complete change in your life manifestation, in your life experience, so that other potentialities that would have remained dormant in the incarnation that you were born into can now come to the fore. With less development, these potentialities would remain to be expressed only in a future lifetime.

When this happens, then it is a wonderful occurrence. It is an acceleration of the movement in an organic way. I say to you that in this period of extended energetic influx of the Christ Consciousness in the New Age there are more individuals who, through this influx, open themselves up to it. When you do not oppose it, when you do not shrink away from it, when you trust it and go with it, then you can bring forth a second incarnation within one embodiment.

Now I would like to suggest to you an active meditation and a visualization in which you trust change as the most desirable, as the most positive, as the most brilliant, and as the most joyful phenomenon that you want to go with and not stem against.

A further suggestion to be considered in this meditation has to do with the familiar. You feel safe in familiar territory, even though this territory may actually be less safe than the unfamiliar one. So it frequently happens that a person remains in a constricted and confined circumference in order to avoid the imagined danger of the unfamiliar. A full life always means to step beyond the old fences and to make new territory your own familiar ground, in which you soon feel just as comfortable as in the old. Realizing yourself means feeling comfortable in a new self-expression. That is you task. And it is only the first few whiffs of the new experience that are unfamiliar. Soon the new becomes the familiar and you expand your circumference, you expand the territory of your psychic at homeness, until further realms wait to be made your own; until finally all of the universe -- all of the existing states of consciousness, the states of mind -- is truly your own. Therefore, it is intensely familiar. Then you are one with the universe.

Now, are there any questions in regard to this topic?

QUESTION: The concept of reincarnation in the same life is very moving, very touching. What I want to ask you is this: in such a process is the person aware of it? Are there any physical signs? Does it occur in sleep or in a waking state?

ANSWER: It occurs in a gradual way on the outer level, but it may not be immediately sensed or perceived by the individual. But there is definitely a change. The change is instigated by the soul in the spirit world in the state of sleep, in which discussions with the spiritual advisors always take place when a person is on a developmental path, and is therefore in touch with his origins and with his advisors. So this is discussed and planned on another level of reality. You may first experience it on the manifest, physical level as a gradual process. As a gradual change of your attitudes, of your interests, of your activities, of your environment, and of your expressions. Later on -- retrospectively, as a cumulative process -- you will see that your life has become very different. But this difference is realized not in an abrupt way, but in a gradual way. Sometimes there is a deep crisis that indicates the changeover. But this crisis is, in principle, no different from your physical death and your rebirth. They, too, are often crises for those who are still in a dim state of consciousness. It is less traumatic in one way, in that there is no cut in consciousness that has to be laboriously regained through a searching effort. And that is the great advantage of reincarnation in the same life.

QUESTION: In this type of reincarnation within the same life, do different aspects of the entity come forth?

ANSWER: Yes, aspects that were not called forth in the first incarnation of that particular lifetime. New aspects that may have never manifested in this same lifetime may now awaken. On the other hand, aspects that were particularly emphasized in the first incarnation that took place may then die down after the secondary rebirth. They are no longer of interest, they no longer serve a purpose, and therefore they are now put aside. They may have fulfilled their function. Therefore the personality loses interest in them. This is why sometimes a person completely changes his sphere of interest in the course of such a spiritual path. That may indicate such a reincarnatory process, but not necessarily. It may also be that the person first had veered off from his original plan, but later became sufficiently open to sense it and thus he changed course. It may also be that the same talents and the same interests reappear, perhaps having improved quite a bit, or having been directed into a different expression.

QUESTION: Can you tell us why the energy of this process has become so accelerated with the influx of the new Christ Consciousness?

ANSWER: Because the energy is extremely strong. The energy expresses the highest caliber of consciousness, of purity, of love, of development. It is of such a high rate of frequency that it can be experienced beneficially only by those souls, those consciousnesses, those personalities who are compatible with it. This is why otherwise this same energy creates crises -- negative manifestations. If you stem against it -- if you fear its influx and therefore you contract against it -- then it will appear to be a negative force, yet it is the highest, the most potently beautiful, the most loving, and the wisest force. This shows once again that one and the same thing can be experienced in entirely different ways. It depends on the consciousness of the individual in question. In other words, on his perceptions, on his conceptions, on his expectations, and on his outlook.

QUESTION: Is it possible for two different aspects of the same entity to reincarnate in one lifetime simultaneously? Two different personalities in two different bodies, being part of the same entity?

ANSWER: My friends, if you really look at it in a deeply truthful and realistic way, then everyone is an aspect of the same Entity. That is the truth.

QUESTION: Is it possible that fear of life is really a fear of dying and reincarnating within this life? The process of giving up the old and moving on to the new?

ANSWER: Yes, that is what I said in this lecture. Life is a phenomenon that must be intensely felt. Life is constantly moving. Therefore it is constantly changing. If change is feared, then life is feared, and, naturally, death is feared as well. Death is only one aspect of life. Therefore, it must be feared as much as life. For they always go together. Change and movement mean constantly dying from an old state into a new state, but always taking along aspects of the old state, in renewed form, and therefore in manifestation. He who completely accepts and embraces life cannot fear death, and vice versa. Since it is one and the same phenomenon, then one and the same attitude must prevail about life, about death, about change, and about movement.

QUESTION: Concerning my recent crisis, I have connected with what you said in this lecture and I'd like to know whether this is actually a rebirth for me at this point.

ANSWER: My dearest friends, I will never answer this kind of question. It is something that you have to experience intuitively within and know it and feel it within, and never have a confirmation from without.

ANSWER: When you speak of the fear of change, then I seem to react differently. I have always been attracted to change and I have always been afraid of static situations. I see that for me this is a way of running away. Could you comment on this?

ANSWER: This kind of desire for change, as you describe it, is often the misinterpreted desire for the organic, real inner change that the personality denies. Just because it is feared in its real and deeper sense -- and because this fear causes stagnation -- change on a more superficial level is sought as a substitute.

QUESTION: During this lecture I had this image of another being, like me, existing beyond me, that goes on and doesn't die, it is eternal. It is me eternal. I felt that it is my task to link up with it. I get an inkling of what it is, and I sense that the more I get in touch with it, the more I will become unified with it.

ANSWER: Of course, that is what it is all about. The higher self is always there. Therefore, you can always link up with it. And when you do, then take it seriously. In other words, do not push it aside as an illusion. It is real! It is beautiful! It is life sustaining!

All right, my dearest, most beloved friends. Perhaps all of you sense from the nature of this topic how much you have grown, and how much you are continuing to grow. In other words, how you are moving toward a new area within your inner universe. It is one that is ready for further self-expression, that is ready to seek change as something to cherish and to trust. Visualize yourself in that way so that you can become more fully active as a carrier of this new, bright culture. The person coming to live and to function in this New Age is one who never fears change, who constantly is ready for change. But not out of fear, not of a desire to escape, not out of the lack of a full commitment to the depth of the Now, not out of a desire of settling down into what is. Rather, in this full commitment, in this peaceful nowness in which you give your fullest to whatever it is that you are doing, to all of yourself, to all of your activities. You intuitively sense the inner rhythm, the inner cycle of movement with which you harmoniously flow. Thus you no longer need the old outer structure in which what is right now must unquestioningly be right tomorrow or next year. In your New Age community you already learn -- and you will continue to see -- that what is right for now may still be right tomorrow, but it may not be right and organic the day after tomorrow. And it may be already changed even tomorrow. There are no rules. Only your connectedness with your greater reality -- with your higher self -- can make you aware of when such change is true and when it is an evasion. As with everything else, so it is with change: It can manifest either in a divine, rhythmic way that is utterly organic, or it can be a superficial substitute because the real change is avoided. Only when you constantly look for your connectedness with your highest wisdom and are committed to it will you know the organic rightness of when and how changed expressions are within the seedplan of the particular organism -- either the group organism or the individual organism. In other words, when change is desirable, productive, creative, and furthering your own self in cohesion with the universe.

With this, my dearest ones, I bless you once again. The love and the gratitude of the spiritual universe are coming forth to all of you who give to yourselves, and thus to the greater venture. Be blessed, all of you.
