And it was.. We ran, we played, we danced on stars. Our imaginations carried us To the edge of the universe and beyond. We believed the world was our playground; That anything was possible. And it was. Sometimes we were rich beyond compare, Other times the saviors of the poor, Famous stars of firemen or secret agents. It seemed like nothing could touch us, That we were invincible. And we were. But the carefree days couldn't last forever. We watched the world around us; Confused, bewildered, we asked questions. The dreams we had once cherished, Now seemed so far away. And they were. -Stephanie Rip |

in a smokey tavern jazz and martinis dulling silent tears a rainfall to swallow my apology sitting in shadow i can look up from my cup to where she writes a napkin poem for a crying dog we are not new we are not forever i know our ebb and flow leaving no scar on her perhaps whose wook came off in overheated love whose voice will linger in my pillow whispering sleep into my ear and memories of lattes rainstorms that she will forget -Yoni Kaston |
