Philippe Bernard is an accomplished artist who grew up in Liège,
Belgium, inspired by the reverie of Magritte and surrounded by the mysteries
of Simenon. Philippe Bernard studied at the famed Athenée
Royal de Liège. Like artists of his generation, Bernard
Philippe undertook an artistic journey that brought him to his distinctive
style of today. From the geometry of urban landscapes evolved
a style more abstract yet, reminescent of Mondrian and Kandisky.
Inspired by Sonia and Robert Delaunay, Philippe Bernard engaged in an introspection
of shapes and colors, following his "Princeton" period and culminating
in the late 80's with the "pavés" series.
