A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment,
It's glory and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies on again
And though we wish it could have stayed,
we feel lucky to have seen it.

The Rose Beyond the Wall
A rose once grew where all could see, Sheltered beside a garden wall,
And, so the days passed swiftly by,
It spread its branches, straight and tall...
One day, a beam of light shone through A crevice that had opened wide ~ The rose bent gently toward its warmth
Then passed beyond to the other side...
Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
Be comforted ~ the rose blooms there ~
Its beauty even greater now,
Nurtured by God's own loving care.

If tears could build a stairway,
and memories were a lane
I would walk right up to heaven
to bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken.
No time to say goodbye,
You were gone before I knew it
and only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness,
and secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.

In Memory Of...
You never said I'm leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died
In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
