Joyager

Joyous is the voyage,
completed and begun in each new moment.

The port of our departure,
Is not the wind that fills our wings,
As this draught carries only,
The scant scent of distant memories;

Powerless remnant,
of an irrevocable past;

Nor is our distant destination,
The relentless tide beneath our keel,
As this flow conveys but,
The flotsam of fantasy's desire;

Feckless imitation,
of an unimaginable future;

We feel the moment's breeze,
Then trim to shed the unwanted vector,
We sense delicious currents,
Then steer the course of our own brave heart,

Potent reality,
fills our irrefutable present;

Joyful is the voyager,
dying and reborn to each new tack.
