The misheard lyrics attributed to Fern Findlay in this chapter were actually thought to be the real song lyrics to "Bad Moon Rising" by one of Waylaid’s authors at a much younger and uninformed age. The author’s version of John Cougar Mellencamp’s "Jack and Diane" was even further off track.
