Waylaid on the Road to Riches

starScary!! star

If you haven’t caught on yet, our dear Laura has attended a showing of this summer’s most frightful box-office success story, The Blair Witch Project.

As champions of struggling artists who make it to the big time through unlikely methods, we here at Waylaid would like to extend a hearty congratulations to everyone involved in the creation of this unnerving and unsettling film.

For those of you who live under rocks, the basic premise of the film is this: in October 1994, three student filmmakers disappeared in the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland, while filming a documentary about a legendary witch. A year later, their footage was found, and that footage has been assembled into The Blair Witch Project.

But guess what folks? It’s all fiction! It’s not true. For those of you who saw the Sci-Fi Channel special and are certain that the movie is about real people who really disappeared, you are sadly wrong. Hit yourself on the head repeatedly and scream "Duh!"

If you are interested in an even more bizarre and unsettling story, check out The Blair Warner Project, pulled from the pages of Tootie’s journals at the Eastland Academy.
