Christmas Parade!!
Yes, dear readers, Cheyenne does host an annual Christmas Parade during the weekend of Thanksgiving. There is also a Christmas Craft Fair as well as a Christmas concert (and this year's guest artist is indeed "nationally known" perfomer Stephanie Ann).
Do these festivities draw the kinds of crowds we describe in this chapter? We have no way of knowing. That is a figment of our authorial imagination.
Also an imaginative product is the date of the parade. The actual Cheyenne Parade is held this year on November 27, 1999, the saturday after Thanksgiving. For plot purposes, we needed it to fall on the 25th, Thanksgiving Day.
But the route of the parade as represented (turning from 17th Street to Carey Avenue) is, indeed, accurate!
