Waylaid on the Road to Riches
Simon's Dream Analyzed!!!
In case you didn't figure it out, friends, this dream of Simon's is not to be passed over lightly. Read it. Absorb it. Think about it. Buried within the first sixteen chapters of the novel, and within the text of this dream, are all the answers to all the questions you could possibly have about Waylaid. True, you'd have to make some fairly over-educated guesses, but you could indeed unravel all of the mystery and intrigue we have cooked up for you.
This dream, dear readers, is a BIG, BIG clue as to what the heck's going on with poor Simon's psyche. A cursory analysis of the dream, according to the fabulous dream lovers' site reveals much in the way of hidden symbols:
- SNOW in dreams symbolizes chilled and unexpressed emotions, or emotions which have been repressed for an extended period of time. As if you haven't guessed, Simon Waterbury is repressing quite a lot.
- RIVERS in dreams symbolize the passage of time, the path of life. The more fast-moving the river, the more tumultuous the life of the dreamer. Poor Simon had a massive coronary, he's a multi-millionaire, he's duplicitous and sneaky, AND he's stuck in Arizona.
- FORESTS in dreams represent confusion or lack of direction. My guess is that a heart attack was not included in Simon's master plan.
- DROWNINGS in dreams represent unresolved emotions, old issues and grudges which have been held on to, and other general ugliness.
That's all for now. We can't throw heaps and heaps of clues into the laps of the teeming millions.
But who was the woman and what was in the bundle?
Good question.
