So now you're asking - "Is there a real Huntington Library? Or are you just pulling our legs again?"
Be still, good reader, for we kid you not. There is indeed a Huntington Library, nestled in the little town of San Marino, just south of the San Gabriel Mountains in lovely Southern California.
And, as a piece of Waylaid trivia, all should know that one of the authors actually worked in aforesaid mecca of art and culture as a Manuscripts Department Assistant. Creeping through mouldy literary works, careening wildly up and down the cold, musty Manuscript Stacks, this particular individual had a ball!
One would think that given this 'insider's view,' the portrayal of the Huntington provided here would be staggering in its accuracy.
And, to a certain extent, it is.
To a certain other extent, it is filled with wild conjecture and out-and-out falsehood. Such are the perils of poetic license.
