Holdup is the story of Jack, A down-on-his-luck young man who decides to rob a bank to finance his dream business.  At the bank he encounters Sarah, a bank teller with the worst luck in the world.  For Sarah, Jack's attempted robbery is the last straw.  She refuses to cooperate with Jack, thwarting his plans and trapping both of them in the bank with the police outside.  Jack and Sarah make a personal connection and formulate a plan to escape. However, There may be more to Sarah's motive than Jack expects.

Holdup was shot as a senior thesis project by students at Ohio University.  O.U. students also wrote, directed, starred in, and were responsible for every aspect of production.  General information is below, while specific info can be found using the buttons at the right.  Comments and email for information are always welcomed.

Locations

Holdup was shot in three locations:

Glouster Community Bank, Nelsonville, OH

For those of you that don't know, you never shoot a movie in a bank.  It simply isn't done.  Security is too much of an issue, yet we felt we needed a real bank to accomplish an authentic look for the piece.  After calling every bank in a fifty mile radius, the good people of Glouster Community Bank in Nelsonville, OH agreed to have a meeting with me.  Ted Swallow, the Vice President of the bank was enthusiatic and cooperative about our project, and agreed to work with us to get the job done.  The bank was beautiful, having been built only a couple of years ago, and looked great in our final cut.  We would like to thank all of the bank employees who helped us in the making of our project:

Ted Swallow
Dick Richardson
Roger Springer
Betty Amodio
Steve Nash
Lissa McKnight

High Plains Ostrich Ranch, Patriot, OH

When I needed to find an ostrich farm to shoot footage at, who knew there would be one in our backyard?  A short hour southwest of Athens, High Plains Ostrich Ranch is run by Katie Marshall, who was happy to accomadate us with tours of the facility, ostrich steaks, ostrich sausage, and even ostrich jerky (For those of you that haven't tried it, it really is quite good!)  Katie was invaluable in giving our piece an authentic look, and many thanks go out to her.  You can visit her webpage by clicking here: www.highplainsostrich.com.

The Home of our Executive Producer

When we started our production and approached June, our professor and executive producer, about shooting at her house, she said, "For the next 12 weeks, my home is yours to use".  Big mistake!  Guess she didn't figure on us rolling cars down her driveway with no one driving, setting her kitchen on fire, covering her yard in trash, and every other thing we did for the sake of our "art".  Seriously, June was incredibly patient with us, and we can't thank her enough.  Although the house is up for sale now.  (Really!)

Production Notes
