The Legendary Pennsylvania Long Rifle

German Immigrant gunsmiths over came the problems of the favored German Jaeger a hunting weapon with a heavy rifle barrel, by making the
long barrel lighter and Decreasing the size of the bore.
Commonly and mistakenly called the Kentucky Long Rifle because most frontiersmen of the period lived west of the Appalachians
encompassing Tennessee, the Great Lakes region and central Mississippi Valley. He was thus referred to as "The Kentuckian" and his rifle was
similarly dubbed. This gun is identical to guns made by Peter Agnst in Penn. 1810-1830.
