Image of the month
It is a known fact that everyone will have a
different opinion on which image is the best.
I am not trying to pick the best image, but picking an image that I personally liked.
I am sure that we will all agree on the fact that this is an excellent image!
July 1998 by Jeri Childs
This Kit Fox image caught my attention immediately. The story behind it is best told by pasting in some of Jeri Childs' answer to my inquiry for information on it. Greyhawk
" Kit fox was shot on Minolta 9000, with 400mm lens , tripod mounted. We slept under the stars on a plateau and got up early enough to shoot sunrise at Deadhorse Point. This is all in the Canyonlands of Utah. Its called that because the Native Americans really did run the horses up to this point and then fence them in, resulting with many going off the cliffs. Anyway after we did that, we went to a spot where my friend had seen a kit fox a year or two before, and we just waited. Eventually one showed its face and then another. They had several entrances and would disappear and re-appear. It was really interesting and we were very unaware of the time, resulting in spending several hours there while they wandered around their den area. I believe this is a San Joaquin Kit Fox and if so, it is on the endangered species list. Will check this out and confirm it for you."
