Just like people, the places I know have had an important influence on my life
The Places I call home:
The place where I was born, and the place that I still call home is Edmonton, Canada. I was born in this city, and lived here until my second year of university. All of my oldest friends are from Edmonton, though some of them have moved to other places. . |

Freiburg, Germany is the place where I have been living now for two years. It is a great little city located in the South-West corner of Germany on the edge of the Black Forest. It is really beautiful here, and for such a small city there is surprisingly a lot to do. It is also a great place to travel from because of its location. There is also endless possibilities for hiking (which I like). |
The Places I have travelled to
I haven't travelled a lot but I have had a chance to visit some interesting places - some just a few hours from home, others much further away.
Some of the best trips I made were the small ones to the mountains for a few days in the summer, or to go skiiing in the winter. Especially memorable were the long weekends that my friends and I would spend at the Whiskey Jack hostel in Yoho National Park. We would pack the van full of supplies and take off . . . we always knew that we would meet new and interesting people at this hostel (many of them Germans). |

Over the past three years I have visited Indonesia twice. The first time was during an exchange I was part of. The second time was last August with my friend Brian. Since Brian was coming from Canada, and I from Germany, we met in Jakarta. We had a great trip. We spent a lot of our time visiting friends of mine. We were in Jakarta, Bandug,Yogyakarta, Bali, Lombok and Kalimantan Barat. In this picture we are visiting my friend Opik in Lombok, my friend Ashley (not in the photo) also met up with us for three days. |
This picture is from my trip to Greece this past March. During my last two years in Germany I have had the chance to do a little travelling. I have seen: Vienna, Prag, Bratislava, Munich, Straßbourg, Basel, Greece, Italy, Amsterdam and Paris. I have also made a number of smaller trips. Just a while ago I went on a tour of the Rhine - Mosel wine regions in Germany with a group of other foreign students. It was beautiful . . . and the wine was great (I stocked-up). |
