"This world is older than any of you know, and contrary to
popular mythology, it did not begin as a paradise. For untold
eons, demons walked the Earth, made it their home, their Hell. In
time, they lost their purchase on this reality, and the way was
made for mortal animals. For Man. What remains of the Old Ones
are vestiges: certain magicks, certain creatures...The books tell
that the last demon to leave this reality fed off a human, mixed
their blood. He was a human form possessed-infected-by the
demon's soul. He bit another and another...and so they walk the
Earth, feeding. Killing some, mixing their blood with others to
make more of their kind. Waiting for the animals to die out and
the Old Ones to return..."
But wait. There is good news. "Into every generation , there is
a Chosen One. One girl, in all the world, born with the strength
and the skill...She alone will stand against the vampires, the
demons, and the forces of Darkness...she is the Slayer."
.......Buffy Anne Summers has just gone through some supernatural occurances, which ended with her high school gymnasium being full of vampires...and burning down. Expelled from Hemery High, she moves with her mom to beautiful Sunnydale, California. Little does she know, it has another name, "Boca del infierno"...the Hellmouth. She had spoken to a "watcher" before, (he died during her first real vampire battle) but perhaps thought that when she moved, things had changed for her. She soon learns otherwise, as a body is discovered at the school on her first day, an obvious vampire attack. Already aware that the new librarian has some kind of vampire knowledge, she storms into the library. "Okay, what's the sitch?" she demands. Describing the body, she says,"Isn't that bizarre? Aren't you just going, 'ooooohhhhhh'?" (proper sound...rhymes with shoe) The
librarian, Rupert Giles, (her new "Watcher") looks at her for a
second before simply replying, "I was afraid of that." She says,
"Well I wasn't. It's my first day. I was afraid I was
going to be behind in all my classes, that...I wouldn't make
friends, that I would have last month's hair. I didn't think
there'd be vampires on campus! AND I DON'T CARE!" Giles looks her
straight in the eye and says, "So why are you here?"(in the
library) Taken aback, she stammers, "To.....tell you that.....I
don't care.....which.....I don't.....and have now told
you.....so...bye!"
.......Okay, she's not crazy about her "mission." Sunnydale is good to her, though. A new friend, Alexander Lavelle Harris, (Xander) overheard her conversation with Giles, so he's aware of her 'secret identy.' A couple more new friends also join the ranks. For maybe the first time in history, this slayer has her own full crew. As Willow Rosenberg says, "You're the Slayer, and we're, like, the Slayerettes!" And so life goes on.
.......Granted, there are challenges, like sometimes vampires showing up at the local club, The Bronze, which is actually the only club. As Cordelia Chase puts it, "It's in the good part of town." "Where is that?" Buffy asks on her first day. "About a half a block from the bad part of town. We don't have a whole lot of town here!" Sometimes, the danger is different, like the giant praying mantis that resembles a substitute teacher, and feeds on virgins. Or the witch who really really wanted to become a cheerleader. Sunnydale sees it all, from ghosts in the school, and sea creatures in the pool, to crooked politicians who offer babies to demons for sacrifices (or try to, anyway.) More often than you would think, the danger is real enough so it could maybe happen in our world. Not every challenge the Slayer faces is supernatural. She is, after all, still a young girl, trying to grow up in a tough world.

Robia LaMorte
Jenny Calender aka Janna (pronounced Yanna) (Romanian gypsy)
The computer-science teacher. She slowly gets closer to Giles,
trying to date him but always being interrupted by little things,
like demons. Her mission: keep an eye on Angel, and don't let
the curse be broken. Oops.. She does figure out how to replace
the curse when it does break, though. However, Angelus twists her
head around backwards before she can try it.
Danny Strong
Jonathan
The student with the most recurring supporting role / co-starring appearances - See Trivia Page
Other Slayers:
Bianca Lawson -
Kendra aka Percepto-girl (Caribbean??)
Intensely dedicated; Kendra trained all her life, with no family,
no friends, nothing but her Watcher. She came to Sunnydale twice,
the second time she provided Buffy with the sword that killed
Angelus. She was killed by Drusilla.
Eliza Dushku -
Faith
"She's an adrenaline junkie who thrives on violence" says Eliza.
A highly aggresive, loves it rough (in more ways than one)
'ticking time-bomb' rogue slayer. After accidently staking a
human and watching him die, she simply states, "I don't care."
Like, "oops.." She then turns evil, replacing the guy she killed
with herself, as the evil Mayor's right hand. After nearly
killing Angel with a poisoned arrow, she enters into her final
battle with Buffy, and Buffy eventually stabs her with her own
knife. She leaps from the roof, to prevent Buffy from getting her
blood, which would save Angel. After a long stay in a coma, she returned, and is now....somewhere....
The Demons:
The Master - Heinrich Joseph Nest - age: roughly 600
Originally drawn to Sunnydale because of the Hellmouth, The
Master tried to open it, to bring Hell and "our" reality
together. In a freak earthquake, The Master, in a church, tumbled
into the mouth of the Hellmouth, along with half the town in
1937. There he sat, trapped, 'like a cork in a bottle...'until
Buffy set him free in "Prophecy Girl"...with her own blood. Drowning in a
pool, she dies. A few minutes later, Xander brings her back with CPR. "You have to
do it, Xander...I have no breath," says Angel. A new Slayer has
now been called by Buffy's death. Buffy catches up to the Master
just as he gains the entrance of the opening Hellmouth, in, of
all places, the school library. Killing him, she closes the
portal again.
James Marsters - Greenville, Ca / ? (yes, the accent's fake!)
His father used to be a minister, his mom almost became a nun!! His response to his own life..."I'm going to HELL!! Not only do I play a demon but I like it......"
Spike - William the
Bloody (who loves to torture with railroad spikes) -
age: "He's barely 200..."
Spike came to Sunnydale for one reason: his girlfriend, Drusilla
is very sick. He hopes that the Hellmouth can restore her. He
also wants to kill a Slayer. History reveals that Spike has
actually killed two Slayers in his time so far, making him very
very dangerous. He watches from a distance, studying and
planning, being very careful. He makes a couple of attempts on
Buffy's life, but misses each time. Finally, after Dru recovers,
and many other fun adventures, the two love birds leave town,
supposedly never to return. Yeah, right...that could happen...
Drusilla-
age: 135 years old, give or take a decade
Drusilla has uncontrolled visions...and she is insane. Sick and
weak, she depends completely on Spike. She was senselessly and
throughly tortured by Angelus. "...I made her insane. Killed
everyone she loved, visited every torture on her I could devise.
She eventually fled to a convent, and on the day she took her
Holy Orders, I turned her into a demon." She will eventually
recover her strength to display a pure evil that would make
Angelus proud. Capturing Angel, she begins her own little torture
games for a while, until he gets away. When he returns as
Angelus, she rejoices, and together they party, much to the
aggravation of the temporarily handicapped Spike. She also uses
her powers to trick a captured Giles into revealing the secrets
he holds, which will enable Angelus to bring about the end of the
world. During the final battle in the second season finale, Spike
jumps her, and drags her away.
Angelus- 246 years old
Angel is a lazy, good-for-nothing drunk in 1753 Ireland, when he
meets Darla, who becomes his sire and psychotic lover/travel mate
for who knows how long. He kills his whole family, then "...for
over 100 years I offered an ugly death to everyone I met. And I
did it with a song in my heart." Finally, they leave together on
a bloody tour of Europe. One night in 1898 in Romania, however,
Darla brings Angelus a gypsy girl, the favorite daughter of her
tribe. Enraged, they devised the perfect punishment for him: they
restored his soul. Now, he has a conscious, and is stunned and
horrified at what he is. No longer able to feed on humans, he
wanders the world alone, an outcast, feeding on animals and
whatever else he can find. For a century he wanders, tortured,
until he finds himself in Sunnydale. Seeing the Slayer, he
decides to help her. He becomes part of the Slayerette crew,
providing priceless info and help, falling more and more in love
with Buffy all the time until they finally destroy the gypsy
curse in bed one night, causing him to completely revert to
Angelus. After a mad reign of terror, he decides that he actually
cannot kill the Slayer. He has a better idea. HE'LL JUST KILL
THE WHOLE WORLD. Opening a door for a demon that will destroy the entire world, the only way it can be closed is with his death. In a stunning battle, he and the Slayer clash for the last time.
Unfortunately, Willow has found the key to restoring his soul.
She succeeds, after it's too late. The end of the world has
already begun, and only one thing can stop it. As he becomes
Angel once more, Buffy kisses him good-bye, wispers her love, and shoves Kendra's sword straight through him, sending him into Hell.
