You
were the friend I never knew well,
the
one who always smiled,
and
always had stories to tell.
You
always had hello,
and
something kind to say.
You
always seemed to care,
even
on the trying days.
You
took the closer look,
we
never even gave.
And
saw the deeper value,
that
every heart could save.
And
when our worlds would crumble,
when
days were dark as night,
you
always had a hand to lend,
and
a smile that made things bright.
You
were always generous,
you
taught us how to give,
the
value of kind words,
and
to love the life you live.
And
so I'll always remember,
the
friend I barely knew
for
the smiles he shared and ways he cared
that
made my world less blue.
And
as the moon will always exist
in
the skies that it made bright
so
your spirit will always shine,
in
the souls that saw your light.
