Shelter

Sheltered in our world
sheltered from these fears
far from the evil
protected from the tears

you can't touch me here
you wouldn't dare invade
leave my world alone
leave me in this shade

you won't know me here
you wouldn't recognize
the dreams that I create
or the glimmer in my eyes

you can't find me here
you would destroy all
collapsing all I've built
ripping away each wall

Leave my world alone
I have nothing more
everything else is worthless
that lays beyond these narrow shores.

Leave my tools alone
they're all that I need
when you take them away
you plant a cruel seed

you think you will invade
you think that I infest
your precious world
your precious little nest

You think you can control
when I don't even care
you think you have such place
but your still not welcome here

I'm sorry that I need
I just want to be at peace
not to worry about whose or what's
to voyage the inner seas.

Maybe I am a fool
blinding myself to what's real
but how should I discover
when I hate all things I feel.
