The Arrival A little girl with the greenest eyes Used some bushes as her disguise. She watched the amazing spectacle And prayed to God for a miracle. For what she saw at first was bright: A strange, unnerving fluorescent light. Fear began to well up inside her. She felt she had been lying there forever. Then suddenly the light diminished, The landing task of the newcomers finished. Then the door began to open. The air streamed out, cloudy and frozen. Then slowly, in the dark moonlight The strangers came into sight. They had no eyes, legs, or arms to speak of. They looked like the fiery sun up above. The fiery orbs slowly left their own vessel, The very last one carrying a small parcel. Then carefully it was placed on the ground Where it was thought it would be easily found. Then as quickly as they did appear They flew out of the stratosphere. As night settled in and quiet returned, The little girl stood up and turned. She then looked down at the package. Slowly she built up her courage. She reached down and undid the locks, Ever so carefully she opened the box. The amazing beauty inside mesmerized her, But in a split second Earth was gone forever.
