Recorded between October and December 1999, Ticklish Brother's "Practicality At Its Maximum" is a value-packed piece of work. In terms of sheer quantity, it weighs in at a hefty 21 tracks, and over an hour of music. Though based fundamentally on acoustic guitar and multi-part harmony vocals, there is a considerable range of style and dynamic present in this work. We work mostly in the folk genre, but our influences include blues, soul, rap, jazz, and practically every other variety of music known to exist. This variety shines through in a collection which is both vibrant and exhilarating, yet fits like an old familiar slipper.
We've put a lot of work into this CD, and we really hope that you enjoy it. Our musical philosophy centers around the fact that most modern recorded music sucks. That's not to say that the bands or musicians suck. On the contrary: there are a wealth of talented performers out there. The sad truth, however, is that people seem to feel the need to bleach all the soul and character out of music before it's pressed on a CD. Justin was completely responsible for all aspects of the recording, mixing and production, and because of this we were able to keep extremely tight control over how the final product worked out. We feel that its combination of playful energy, peaceful introspection, solid and insightful lyrics, and just plain FUN make this CD a very worthwhile addition to your collection.
And now for the nitty gritty. We wanted to make sure that this CD would be accessible to as many people as possible, so we've priced it at an incredibly low 15 (fifteen) dollars. And those are Canadian dollars too, and with the exchange rate, that's roughly $12(yep) American dollars. Shipping is by Airmail only (surface is silly. If you REALLY want to, we'll ship it surface, but please be warned that it can take up to 3 MONTHS), in a bubble mailer.
Within Canada: $2.50
U.S.A.: $3.50
International: $6.75
Please also keep in mind that if you order more than one, the shipping costs get lower. We're happy to combine orders to help you save on shipping. We don't make any profit on it. These are just the prices the Post Office quoted, plus the cost of the bubble mailer.
As for payment, we can accept International Money Orders, personal cheques (but they might cause delays because the bank gets contrary sometimes), well-concealed cash, or a range of major credit cards through Paypal. And remember that since our dollar is worth so little these days, orders from outside Canada get an extra good deal.
So, if you're ready to order, simply make payment payable to:
