Hi, I'm Patty Goat, relative of Uncle Goat.
For random poetry and pictures of me,
You have come to the right place.

RésuméA research paper I wrote The ship I was on in the Navy
A cute web page I ginned up after stealing the parts

Literature selections to end of page

It is man's privilege to doubt,
If so be that from doubt at length

Truth may stand forth unmoved of change.
--Alfred, Lord Tennyson
from "Supposed Confessions"
I think that I shall never see
A billboard lovely as a tree.
Indeed, if billboards do not fall
I'll never see a tree at all.

--Ogden Nash

"This above all; to thine own self be true.
And it must follow
As the night the day
Thou canst not then be false to any man."

--William Shakespeare, Hamlet

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach
when feeling out of sight for the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use in my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with the love I seemed to lose with my lost saints.
I love thee with the breath, smiles, tears, of all my life, and if God so choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
-Elizabeth Barrett Browning
