BASIC FUNCTION

Responsible for the operation, management and security of the Internet, subnetworks, E-Mail and other network servers. Responsible for the programming and operatlon of internetwork bridges and routers. Responsible for all network support actlvities. Responsible for network hardware and software enhancements, changes and operatlonal improvements.

PRlMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs daily network management functions, including operational analysis and maintenance dlagnostlcs to ensure proper and secure operation of all networks ervices.

2. Evaluates, installs, coordinates implementation and maintains new network services In response to network user needs.

3. Selects, installs and maintains network access security devices and software, as required.

4. Performs network usage analysis to determine service levels and to detect abuse or incorrect use.

5. Conducts functional testing of the networks to determine adequacy of services

6. Develops and conducts on-golng network user educatlonal and tralnlng programs.

7. Provides coordinatlon between network users and service providers.

8. Maintains the User Help Desk function.

9. Provides technical guldance and assistance to network users In the resolutlon of hardware and software problems.

10. Maintains network servers and databases.

11. Creates and maintains network user accounts and privileges.

12. Provides and maintains network support functions.

13. Prepares and recommends changes to network configuration and operational procedures.
