Clara began her training in classical music. She has played with many orchestras, including the Interlochen World Youth Symphony and Boston University Tangelwood Institute Orchestra. She was a principal player with the MIT Symphony Orchestra and was concert mistress of the Wellesley College Orchestra.

A former student of Fudeko Takahashi, Nancy Cirillo, and Martha Potter Kim, in 1998 she founded the Blue Moon Pavane String Quartet.

In 2003 she discovered the electrifying power of the effect pedal and has been playing electric violin as a member of the Boston rock band, The Jumblies.
