SAVAGE
NIGHT
The flame shakes it's head,
tossing wild shadows
like a mane of hair
onto the wall.
You
lie next to me,
fingers lightly resting
on my nipple
and your sleeping sighs
like the sea.
My
body is on the
peaceful beach of your slumber.
I savour the warm breath
of the sunrise
you conjure there.
But my
mind is in
my own savage jungle.
My thoughts seduce my mind;
caress the pages of my imagination,
call me to dance naked
in the glow of roaring fires
with fierce, painted creatures.
I have
to worship this night;
rage in the downpour
of a billion stars,
answer the call of unknown gods
in the wind,
annoint myself
with silver moonlight!
And
then,
in the afterglow,
I will plunge into your ocean
and swim in your dreams.
I will wrap myself around you
like twin trees
entwined.
