BLAKE'S LAWS

Due to the fact that so many people told me the old font was so hard to read (thanks Chank!), I have now re-done the laws here, so that they will be more easily read. Again, as before, read them, agree, or disagree, but at least let yourself think about each one. As always, I am interested in YOUR opinion too, so feel free to leave me a message...

1. The only person you can ever absolutely count on is yourself.

2. Always watch your back.

3. Life is too short to seriously worry about what others think about you - always be yourself.

4. True love exists between souls, not bodies; however, one's body can influence one's soul.

5. Different people are driven by different things.

6. The second best things in life cost money.

7. Life is filled with both pleasures and pains, sometimes they are experienced simultaneously.

8. If your hobby becomes your profession, get a new hobby.

9. Distance cannot keep true friends apart.

10. Listen to everybody. A good idea is a good idea, even if an idiot said it.

11. Beware the professional who tries to tell you what professionalism is.

12. Anything worth doing is worth doing with all of the energy you can put towards it.

13. Beauty is only SPIRIT deep.

14. Life is full of all types of experiences, some good, some bad, but the one who wants to survive will learn from other's experience as well as their own.

15. Everything eventually succumbs to entropy, but until it does, enjoy it.

16. To be alive as it is possible to be, one must wonder like a child, act like a teenager, and think like an adult. - We go through stages for a reason.

17.Though one must keep an open mind, don't keep it so open that what was stored there flies out.

18. Never admit to anything.

19. Never underestimate your opponent.

20. Never set limits for yourself, or you will never go beyond those limits.

21. Always be nice, until it is time to not be nice.

22. Guard your emotions until the end, for if you let down your guard, you are sure to regret it at a later time.

23. The human body is, in and of itself, beautiful, there is nothing obscene about it; however, if not cared for, one's body may become obscene to one's self.

24. Never be surly at a joyous occasion, even if you feel pain instead of joy.

25. It is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all. (I wish I had come up with this one)

26. It is by one's own standards which will determine how one will live, never judge anyone by standards other than their own.

27. There is no such thing as an unbiased news report. The reporter's views may be similar, or different, but never are they neutral.

28. America has a lot of past-times, some people get paid more to enjoy them.

29. If you can put a smile on some one's face that has been hurting in some way, then you have done well.

30. No matter how big a man is, if you take out his knee or instep, he will go down.

31. An absolute resolution is not the end of a problem, but is instead the beginning of a whole new set.

32. Patience is a virtue, not one of mine, but is a virtue none the less.

33. Never strike the first blow, but be sure to retaliate with such force that the other wishes they hadn't struck at all.

34. If someone wants to give you enough rope so that you will eventually hang yourself, disappoint them by continuously cutting the rope.

35. Never let anything stand in the way of your dreams. See obstacles as merely detours.

36. Take homour seriously. If you don't laugh so hard that you think you might puke, at least onces in that year, then there was no point in living that year.

37. Never throw out an old phone number, or address, because if you do, you will need it shortly thereafter.

38. Every adversary has a weakness. If you find that weakness, and exploit it, your chances for success are greatly improved.

39. The person who fills their mind with useless facts, or trivia, will either only use it to impress their friends, or end up on a game show.

40. Everyone chooses to believe in something, even those who choose to believe in nothing.

41. Each generation thinks they are so unlike the ones that have gone before, a quick check of history will prove otherwise.

48. Never bet on another person's trick. Chances are it can be done, and they can do it.

49. Lock things up.

50. Use your talents, lest you forget how to use them, no matter what they may be.

51. Life is one great big long story, and in between beginning and end, birth and death, are many shorter stories, all of which we make up as we go along.

Those are the laws. I hope that they at least made you stop and think about things for a minute... now, if you think you're ready, go on to what I believe...
