After being inspired by a Quake III tournament, I've decided to bring the fun back to Quake II. The rules are very simple, the format is exact, and it's all for fun!
INFO:
The tournament will be a team tournament, 2 Vs 2. Anyone may participate, You can either sign-up a team, or sign-up individually and be placed in a team. The games will be rail only, in 'The Edge', with specific hook settings. The rounds will be best of three games; ten freeze points per game. (*NOTE*) Due to Zone and Gamespy policy, this tourney must NOT be mentioned in Gamespy or Zone main chat rooms. Tourney games, if played on Gamespy or Zone, must NOT mention the tournament in the Room Name or Description. If you must, use the acronym: FTT.
RULES: (*NOTE*) Rules may be changed or added to at any time to suit unforeseeable issues.
New rules:
There will be no open talking during games, only team line, therefore it's your own fault if you get fragged while typing. You must use normal ctf male and female skins. There will be no flashlights, no stuffing, and no cheating. There is no forced respawn, therefore you can't complain about spawn kills. Anything else I forgot?
Teams:
There will be eight teams total. The tournament will begin when all team positions are filled. Each team must have a designated Team Leader and a Soldier. You may also submit up to three Substitutions. These players may take the place of any team member, if they are needed but ONLY if they are needed. A clan may submit up to two teams, but a single player is only allowed to be a member of one team. (*NOTE*) If you send in a sign-up request solo, and without a team, you waive your right to pick a team and are stuck with the team you are placed in. You may deny the team, but you will not be allowed to participate in the tournament.
There will be:
Fun, Frolic, Mayhem
Hosts/Servers:
There are two designated places that Tournament games may be played. One is the Goat Freeze Tag Server and the other is the iStorm Freeze Tag Server. If the Goat Freeze Tag Server is not up and running, but _Goat_Greyedge is online, message _Goat_Greyedge and he'll start it up.
There will NOT be:
Bots, Spectators, Cheaters
Games:
Each round, teams will play each other in a best of three game series, which may be played back to back. The game setup shall be: rail only, no fall damage, infinite ammo, no health, no weapons stay, no powerups, no armor, spawn farthest-YES, no forced respawn, no quad drop, no friendly fire, hook_speed = 2000, hook_rpf = 400, hook_max_len = 9999, map = q2dm1, 10 team freeze points (I know that this seems a bit much, 10 points, best of 5 games, but this way the victor is sure not to be just lucky... :) ). Be sure to set the games to this format, or they will not count. The tourney will consist of 8 teams. Upon finding out your matches, you have one week to coordinate the game times. It is up to the team leaders of the competing teams to choose the game times, to decide on a host/server, and to make sure that their team is at the appointed place at the appointed time. If during the week you have difficulty setting up your match, and have put forth the effort to get in contact with your opponents, notify the tourney proctor of the conflict BEFORE THE WEEK IS UP. If, at the end of the week and a game hasn't been played, the team that hasn't notified the tourney proctor of the conflict will forfeit. If both teams notify the proctor, then the games will either have an extension or both teams will forfeit, depending on the situation.
Final Rule:
Tourney Proctor's word is law. Judgements made by the tourney proctor are final. Complaints should be given to your momma, because she's the only one who will hear you!
PRIZE:
The prize for the winning team will be a custom model/skin made by _Goat_Greyedge, in CTF colors, so they can be used in Freeze Tag games and future tournaments. You will also get bragging rights until the end of time or until the Internet crashes.
