Wow, It's Diary Collaboration time again. This month's question is Why are women wonderful, at the suggestion of Javina. |
Well things went well at court yesterday, everything has been continued until October 7th, and well, if I can get my act together, the whole thing will be dismissed. Monday's ranting seems a distant thing now. When I walked out of the courthouse, I loosened my tie, and got a big grin on my face. It was good to face danger, and win, even if for a short time. Sure I'm not a Hero, but I think I know how Odysseus felt when he used his wit to defeat his enemy. The rest of my day went really well, the customers in St.Louis have hired someone else to do the programming, all I have to do is brain dump into his head. At least that's what my company wants. Now we just have to convince the customers that that will be the best (and cheapest) method. I'm really happy about this, because they've got me a PowerBuilder job here in Charlotte (that's also downtown, whew), with one of the big companies here in Charlotte. I'd much rather do that. Also, this whole St.Louis thing may be over soon, and that will give me a chance to research other jobs (especially the one mentioned to me where the pay was much better, or to determine what I really want to do) Azura wasn't too hip on my career planning idea. I guess she thought it was too expensive. It is expensive. But it might be worth it. As soon as I think it is worth it, I'm going to do it. But I'm going to think about it first.
In all my problems, I'd forgotten about the collaboration. Not that Uncle Buck made it easy for me to forget. [Thanks Buck!] The question is "Why do you find women wonderful?" Ok I'm not going to argue that some women aren't wonderful. But all women? That's just too general for me. Ok, I could discuss some of the things I like about the women in my life, and say, "These are some of the things I find about women that are wonderful." But, and I mean but, a lot of the men in my life have the same traits. It's about wonderfulness, not about women. The whole question bothers me. I guess it's my everyday fight about gender with people online. Since I'm bisexual, and hang out in the channel #bisex, we get people coming into channel all the time looking for netsex. Our channel isn't a netsex channel, despite the fact it has "Sex" in the name of the channel. We get inundated with AOL'ers who type: age/sex check. Or people who must not be able to spell, who type r u m or f? (the answer, for all you computer geek people is "Yes"). Sometimes, we'll ask a person if they are bi, and if they say yes, then we ask them why it matters. I mean, isn't the person inside--the human person--the important thing? Isn't that who you fall in love with, as opposed to the body that you might fall in lust with? [Don't get me wrong, lust is fine. It just isn't wonderful.] So why are women wonderful? Because they are witty, fun, smart, caring, human people. Oh wait, that's why men are wonderful, too. Generic Joe's A Typical Male | ||
