I AM

I know that I AM

I have that Knowledge

That Understanding

To know that - I AM

I AM - what?

A person

A unique individual

A being amidst a world of beings

One amongst many

Yet carrying within me - a spark

A spark which yet inhabits each individual

Each one amongst the many

That spark in each one of us - of the same essence

Thus making us sisters

Thus making us sisters and brothers

All of one family

I hold out my hand

To share of my sisters` suffering

I hold out my hand

To taste of my brothers` grief

For their pain

Is my pain, too

How can I deny that?

Since we are all of the same family

Born of the self-same essence

Which we each carry within us as a spark

A spark of yearning

A spark of longing

Which - when the moment is ripe

Will burst forth into a flame

A flame of True Knowledge

Of True Understanding

To know that all is a Unity

All - a Oneness

Yet made up of a myriad of `uniqueness`

My uniqueness helps me in my life

Your uniqueness helps you in yours

But - together - they help us shape a world

A world in which we can all live safely

All play a part

In which we can all share

Ah! That all should recognise the Unity

Ah! That all should comprehend the Oneness

Then instead of fighting - arguing

Instead of conflict - wars

Instead of marginalisation and rejection

We should have Peace and Harmony

Love and Beauty

A world in which these things matter

Where all are cared for

And looked upon for what they are

A uniqueness

Yet part of a Unity

Part of a Greater Oneness
