CLARA D. HENDON
"Living is a form of not being sure, not knowing what's next or how. The moment you know how, you begin to die a little."--Agnes De Mille
Hi visitors and friends! This is my humble attempt at having a home on the web. I'm Clara, but feel free to call me Carrie, as all my friends do.
I'm new on the web...so bear with me as I struggle to make my site an interesting place to visit and explore!
- I was born in Columbus, Georgia on March 6, 1975. I lived there throughout pubescence, although my family moved around quite a bit. It was at the wee age of seven that I knew my calling was to become a writer. I have since then poured my heart into my passion and it has grown and progressed into more of an obsession now than ever before. My family moved to Montgomery, Alabama when I was eleven years old, and with growing up there, and experiencing the teenage life there and coming into my own, I have begun to consider Montgomery my hometown. I made my first real friends there, had my first boyfriend there, and began exploring the arts there. I love the theatre. I love ballet. I love literature. I love music. I love visual arts. Aside from those things, another passion I have is fashion. I embrace fashion with an open mind and regard getting dressed as a way of creative expression that puts limits on or exceeds limits to our lives.
- I am a student at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama majoring in English with Creative Writing as my area of study. The perfect job for me would be to write for Cosmopolitan Magazine and have time to work on my first novel. I have two jobs: I'm a secretary in the Electrical Engineering Department at Auburn University and I also work at Blockbuster Music Store. I am working hard to get what I want because nothing comes easy, and I do not believe in settling for anything less than I deserve, which is the best. My dream destination is New York City. I have recently visited the city and fell in love with the chaotic atmosphere and different varieties of people. Check out some of my LINKS and I will update later and add pictures, so be on the lookout for new and interesting things here!

"To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time"
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying;
And the same flower that smiles today
Tomorrow will be dying.
The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he's a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.
That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.
Then be not coy, but use your time,
And, while ye may, go marry;
For, having lost but once your prime,
You may forever tarry.
