This is what I call a digitized drawing created from a 1980 pencil drawing. The original pencil drawing is currently unavailable--I guess I lost it--but hopefully, it will turn up somewhere in a pile of other "misplaced" objects of mine.
The drawing represents two of the three areas that make a drum and bugle corps what it is, namely a drum and a bugle. The third, and most colorful aspect of drum corps, is the visual ensemble, traditionally known as the colorguard. The hat is called a shako, typical headwear for military-style uniforms, such as cadets.
