"I have something for you, little one..".
I turned my head to gaze into her beauty, her blue eyes sparkling with the crispness of a mountain stream...
"Oh no, Sweet Mother, you have given so much to me, and had so much taken from you, it is I, that should be giving you something!"
"You have little one," she whispered, the soft breeze of her voice brushing the wisps of hair from my face. "You have given me your love, that is all I ever ask of any of my children, but it is not right that you journey alone, you need someone to share your journey. You can not walk the path in solitude. That is not how it is meant to be."
With that, her gaze shifted to her other hand which she held out at arm’s length. Cradled in that hand was a man, one such as I have never seen before, with caring eyes, a soft, sad smile, his dark hair falling softly about his shoulders and a warm glow surrounding him.
He too was gazing at Mother Earth, a softness reflected in his eyes as he searched her face and followed her glance back to me.
We stood there, cradled in her hands, neither of us saying a word, neither of us daring to move. Each seeing the other for the first time, a hundred emotions flooding us. a hundred more memories dancing through our thoughts. Each hoping, this is the one, but afraid to reach out once again, for fear of touching emptiness.
With a soft startled bump, I felt myself moving towards this man, as the Sweet Mother closed the distance between us, drawing us closer, until we were but a step away from each other. We both turned and looked at the Mother, questions of How?, Why? What if? in our eyes.
The Mother just softly shook her head, saying, "It’s not important, What’s important is the doing, the sharing, taking the step. It is time for both of you."
With that she lifted her chin slightly, nudging us with her gesture.
We turned, our eyes meeting, all of our hopes and dreams reflected in our eyes, our hearts and souls bared for the other, both of us reaching out for the other, meeting, touching, taking the step, and started our journey together this time...
