I love to sing! Lately I have been focusing on solos at my church "First St. Andrews United Church" in London, Ontario. I also sing in the choir as a soprano. I have been taking vocal lessons for a couple of years now. The church puts on concerts and productions several times a year. The last one was a Gilbert & Sullivan Cabaret and I got a solo as Pitti-Sing from the Mikado. It was very exciting!

I am also a songwriter. I write and perform originals (when I have time) at local clubs. My style would most likely be classified as "folk". I have started recording a few of my tunes, but I imagine that this costly project may take a while to complete. I like to experiment with different styles and instruments. I started with the acoustic guitar. I am most familiar with it and the majority of my songs are written with it. Then I moved to electric bass (as you see in the photo). That gave me opportunity for "the blues". I wrote two songs specifically for the bass. I purchased an old upright grand that needs tuning but am finally learning to "read" music with it. I have been dreaming for many years to learn to play the harp. I recently took a few lessons and, sure enough, I loved the instrument. As soon as I can afford to buy one.....

I think that music is something that really touches the heart and hope to continue singing and writing for many years. If only I could make a living at it...

A few of my favourite music links are:

Home County Folk Festival - London, Jacquelyn Brown - Harpist, Julia Propeller - Excellent Band, Loreena McKennitt, Bruce Cockburn, Sony Music.
