Once again, congratulations are in order. Our Crusade has gotten more notice. This time we were mentioned in Soap Opera Weekly, an even bigger soap publication. Here's what they said: Under the Mail Call
DAYS OF OUR LIVES' Carrie and Mike have caught fire. We're being bombarded with positive mail on this potential couple. Many fans have sent books of matches, because "Mike and Carrie are so hot." Don't get us wrong: We appreciate the visual aids. Unfortunately, we are often unable to make use of many of the items we amass.
Now is the time to put the REAL heat on the Soap Mags and Days Of Our Lives. We can't give up hope just because Austin and Carrie are getting married. Instead, we need to add more pressure and campaign harder. Now that Carrie has married Austin, maybe her mind will be clear enough to really consider her feelings and how they've changed. It's imperative now, more than ever, that we stay very vocal about our support of Mike & Carrie and our desire to see them together. Don't let Austin and Carrie's wedding get you down. I don't think it will last. Carrie's feelings have changed, and now that she's not so focused on marrying Austin because it finally happened, she'll be able to concentrate on and explore how she really feels. We need to continue to post our feelings on this subject on the message boards. As before, let's keep things nice and polite. We don't want to wind up trading catty remarks with the Austin/Carrie fans. Let's focus on our goal and not allow ourselves to be sidetracked by petty little arguments. We must keep ourselves focused on our true goal: Getting Mike and Carrie together.
If you have more slogan ideas or comments, feel free to email myself at JAXYkat@aol.com or Elaine at EyeDClaire@aol.com. We've really appreciated hearing from you all over the last few weeks.
Mike and Carrie's Song
All great couples have more than one song and normally, this is the section where I would place a song with lyrics as a possible choice for Mike and Carrie's song. However, this time, in honor of Princess Diana, I'm going to put down the lyrics from Elton John's revised version of "Candle In the Wind" from her funeral. Let's always try to remember all the beauty and joy both Diana and Mother Theresa bestowed upon the road. This is in honor of them.
"Candle In The Wind"
Goodbye England's rose;
may you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed itself
where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country,
and you whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to heaven,
and the stars spell out your name.
And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset
when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
among England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before
your legend ever will.
Loveliness we've lost;
these empty days without your smile.
This torch we'll always carry
for our nation's golden child.
And even though we try,
the truth brings us to tears;
all our words cannot express
the joy you brought us through the years.
Goodbye England's rose,
from a country lost without your soul,
who'll miss the wings of your compassion
more than you'll ever know.

A Poem For Mike and Carrie
This is a poem written by fellow crusader TAHpoetic@aol.com for Mike and Carrie. I'd post the one that DOOLCarrie sent to me, but it's already posted on the Mike and Carrie web page.
This is about Carrie and her feeling about Austin:
"How Can We Say Our Love Survived?"
by, Trisha Harper
aka...TAHpoetic
So much time has gone by
I can't even say I know you anymore
We are both so different now
How can we say we love each other anymore?
We have both had our doubts
And our love has suffered
I have had someone to lean on when you
weren't around,
How can we say our love has not changed?
You have hurt me so many times
Am I just suppose to forget about all the pain?
It's not that easy to do
But I have someone to help me through
And its not you,
So how can you say our love has survived?
Is this friend just a friend
Or is he something more that I can't see
Because of what I thought we had
Was blinding all my real feelings inside me,
I need to tell you,
I don't think our love has survived.
Our love has gone through hell and back
Our love seemed to survive the first few attacks
vv
But then we started to have our doubts
And our love and our trust in each other has
suffered,
So, I am asking you this
How can you say our love has survived?
The Wedding Scene Scenarios
Thanks for your vote submissions on the wedding scene scenarios. The winner was Scene 1. Here it is again to refresh your memories.
Scene 1
The Wedding
Mike is so happy to be with his son Jeremy. Robin has returned to Salem with Jeremy just as Sami and Austin are to renew their wedding vows at St. Lukes. Robin asks Mike if she and Jeremy could go with him to the ceremony. Mike reluctantly agrees since Sami asked Carrie to stand up for her at the ceremony (just another way for Sami to rub it in.)
At the church everyone is taking their seat as Carrie and Austin are standing at the altar. Carrie is on the verge of tears thinking her true love is going to marry her sister when see looks out in the crowd and sees Mike smiling at her. She starts to smile back but sees Robin sitting with him touching his knee. A twinge creeps across her stomach. "That's strange," she thought, "I should be happy for Mike that Robin has come home. After all, he's been so supportive of me and Austin." She rubs her stomach and looks away. Mike notices the disturbed look on Carrie's face and realizes it must be because Robin is touching him. He lightly brushes her hand away.
As the ceremony is about to begin, Eric rushes in and says, " The wedding is a fraud!" Everyone looks to him in shock. "I don't know exactly what Sami is up to, but I can feel it's something awful. She's been fooling all of you."
Austin walks up to him and grabs him by the collar, "Hasn't Sami been through enough? Why are you doing this to her? She has changed, I've seen it, she's more caring now and she's a good mom. I'm going to do the right thing and make us a family."
"But you don't love her, you still love Carrie and she still loves you." Eric pleaded with him. Austin turned to look at Carrie who was smiling through her tears.
"Is that true Carrie? Do you still love me?" At this point Mike lowers his head and thinks, "This is it." He is going to lose Carrie forever.
Still crying, Carrie says, "Up until this very second I knew I still. . ."
"NOOOOOO!" Sami comes scrambling down the isle. "You can't have him Carrie, I won't let you, he's mine." Mike stands up and grabs Sami to try to calm her down. Carrie looks intently at Mike and realizes time and time again whenever she needs him, he has been there. All her life he has been there. She looks from Austin to Mike then back to Austin. She touches her stomach again and realizes Mike is the one who sends butterflies through her. He's the one who has made her laugh when she was down, supported her through thick and thin, has been her friend, and was ready to make the ultimate sacrifice: give up his happiness if it meant she would be happy with Austin. But it was too late. Robin was back now . Everything was changed. Rather than this day being the happiest of her life, it was the saddest. She had lost two men today-- one she used to love but now loved no longer and the man she had loved all her life and was still in love with after all these years. Carrie looks at both of them one more time, "Austin, I'm sorry, but I can't, I don't. I realize now that we've never been truly happy, and we never could be. Sami will always manage to come between us. I can't always worry about that. Besides, you and Sami are always going to be Will's parents, and she will always hold that over you."
"But I thought you loved me, Carrie?" Austin pleads with her. "If you loved me, you wouldn't leave me now."
"Even if that meant I wouldn't be happy?" Carrie inquisitively asks.
"I can make you happy Carrie, I did it before, didn't I?"
"That's true, but. . ."
"Stop!" Just then Jamie runs in. "Stop this wedding, I have proof that Austin is not Will's father." Everyone gasps in horror. Austin turns to Sami who slumps down in Mike's arms.
Austin approaches Jamie, "What are you talking about?"
"I've kept this quiet too long. That night you thought Lucas and Carrie were making love at Titian, it was actually Sami."
Austin shook his head, "No it can't be."
"Yes, it's true, and I bet if you and Lucas took a paternity test it would come back that Lucas is the real father of Will."
"Carrie, see now we are free to be together." Austin says to Carrie.
She looks again at Mike. "Oh Austin, I never thought I would be saying this. . ." Mike couldn't take it any longer he broke in and said, "Carrie before you do what I think you're about to do, I have to tell you something."
"You don't have to say it. You have shown me-- You love me!"
Mike looks confused, "How long have you known?"
"I just realized it, I realize everything now. You were willing to give up everything for me. No one has ever done that before. You stood by me helping me get through this whole ordeal with Austin all the while knowing that you loved me. Even so, you were willing to let me go because it's what you thought would make me happy."
"So, are you going to be happy with Austin?"
"There's only one man I'm going to be happy with and that's you Mike, but now I must be as noble and unselfish as you have been. Robin has returned with your son. I would never come between you, Robin, and Jeremy."
"Carrie, no you don't understand. Robin has met somebody else and is getting married. She came back because she wanted to tell me in person and to let me see Jeremy. Carrie, it's you I love. I've always loved you."
"Oh, Mike, I love you too."
They go to each other and kiss passionately.

The Love Shack
Thanks again for your submissions of scenarios from the shack. Here are the three scenarios for you to vote on. Please email me at JAXYkat@aol.com with your vote.
Scene 1
Mike is telling the stars how much he loves Carrie and what she means to him. While this is going on Carrie wakes up quietly and listens to him ... He then goes on to say that he wants Carrie to be happy more then anything in the world and if that means that she marries Austin then that is what he will have to live with. After this Carrie falls back to sleep....where she dreams of Mike and his love for her...as she dreams Mike goes to warm her up again.. as he bends down to cuddle her, her eyes open and she smiles for just a moment and then continues to dream.....Again they dream together, but this time they are dreaming of the same thing :) They kiss while dreaming and Carrie wakes first this time she looks at Mike as he sleeps....She thinks to herself: " I love him" She kisses him on the forehead and he wakes....
They gaze lovingly at one another and kiss passionately... The soft wonderful "I just realized what you mean to me" kisses lead to kisses on the neck and kisses on Mike's chest. They embrace like lovers in there half dressed state and they make love out there in the middle of nowhere thinking only of eachother.

Scene 2
Subliminally, at least, Carrie knew that this was Mike telling her that he loved her; Mike telling her that he would always take care of her.
Struggling for consciousness, Carrie woke to a kiss of liquid fire. "This isn't Austin," she realized. Her lips parted eagerly against her will. "It's just a kiss," she lied, allowing more.
But it was more than a kiss. It was a sweet assault that Carrie was begging her body to reject, but, in truth, did not want to.
"This isn't right..." Carrie argued with her dawning conscience. Shaking her head only served to bring her closer to him. " I can't, Mike," she said.
"Oh Carrie..."
His hoarse endearment nearly did her in. Oh my God, she wanted him! She couldn't stop a groan from escaping her lips. Not understanding, Mike instantly pulled back.
"God Carrie...I'm sorry...you thought I was Austin...I'm sorry...", he struggled. "Look, I'm going to see if I can get the cell phone," he said over his shoulder as he walked out the door of the cabin.
Rousing herself from her new found feelings, Carrie called out for Mike to come back. He was already gone. Talking to herself, Carrie quietly said, "I never would have guessed... how could I have not known...Oh, I just - don't know what to do about Austin."
Walking in and hearing that last comment Mike quietly mutters, "Same song, second verse."
"What?" asked Carrie hesitantly.
"I shouldn't have. I don't know how it happened. It's all my fault...."
Struggling, Mike continues, "Well, here's the cell phone, why don't you call Austin."
Carrie looks at the phone and reluctantly takes it. Stopping, she says, "Oh my God. I can't do this. I can't believe this. Not listening, Mike turns for the door. In frustration, he swings back and admits in an outburst, " I don't care if this isn't the right thing to say, but Carrie, I love you. I want you Carrie Brady, and if you don't want me....fine. But...please tell me you love me, too."
Her silence was his undoing. He looked away.
This time it was Carrie who reached out. She took his hands in her own, staring at him, her lips trembling.
"What is it?" he coaxed, his hope quickening.
"I love you Mike Horton, now and forever."
The cell phone remained unused as Mike rained kisses on her upturned face. When his kiss deepened into a longing insistence, Carrie's eyelids shuttered closed...

Scene 3
MIKE AND CARRIE SAGA (my version of the cabin love story) Part 17
Carrie walked up behind Mike and put her arms around his waist. The sun was peeking through dark rain clouds. She watched it as it made its slow descent. Then whispered in his ear.
"You know there are worse things than being stranded alone with me."
Mike looked down at her and smiled. "I'm sorry, Carrie. I'm just anxious to get this medicine to your father. I guess I'm thinking like a doctor right now." Mike pulled out the small vials and looked at them. "Dr. Brooks is dead and these may not even cure Roman." Mike squeezed the vials in a death grip and jammed them into his coat pocket. "It's all so frustrating."
"Hey." Carrie turned Mike's head toward hers. "If this isn't the answer, we'll just keep looking until we find one that works. We have to."
"I know. You're right." Mike hugged Carrie. What would he do without her.
The dark skies above them crackled and released a burst of rain over the small cabin. It took only seconds before the water soaked through their clothes.
Mike looked toward the heavens. "Perfect timing." He used his coat as a make shift umbrella, and the two of them ran up the driveway toward the cabin.
"You think that was a message that you needed to cool off?" Carrie laughed.
"Maybe." Mike smiled and the rain came down even harder onto them. Even when things were going wrong, she managed to find the good in it. The windows were open and the rain brought a cool breeze into the cabin. Carrie shivered. "We need to get out of these wet clothes."
Mike looked over at the doctor. What were they going to do with him? They couldn't just leave him there in the middle of the floor. In a small room off to the side was a couch. Mike drug the body onto it.
"At least in death, he'll be comfortable." Mike said a prayer for the doctor's soul.
Mike leaned against the sink and looked at himself in the mirror. He was quite a sight. Carrie had left him a pair of sweatpants she'd found. It was the only piece of clothing she said he'd fit into. Mike stripped his wet clothes off and put on the sweatpants. Carrie was already out of her clothes. She was wearing the doctor's oversized dress shirt and looked every inch a woman. She was the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen.
Carrie watched Mike as he walked toward her. The fire Dr. Brooks had started was still burning in the fireplace casting golden shadows over the room. The rain glistened like gold on Mike's chest. As he walked over to the table and joined her, her pulse raced by the mere sight of him.
"What's all this?" She had put together a small feast for the two of them. "Wine?" Mike picked up the slim-necked bottle and gave a nod of approval.
"It's the only way to be stranded in the middle of no where." Carrie laughed.
"All this needs is a little mood music." Mike found a battery powered radio and tuned it into the only station that would come in. Celine Dion began singing "When I Fall in Love."
"May I have this dance Ms. Brady?" Mike pulled Carrie into his arms.
"Why Dr. Horton, I thought you'd never ask." They laughed and took a quick spin around the room..
"Remember that story I use to tell you when you were younger? Princess Carrie from the Land of Salem."
"You remember that?"
"Sure, how could I forget. You kept asking me to tell it to you over and over."
"It wasn't so much the story... It was you. I had the biggest crush on you. I'd do anything to be close to you. Even sit through that Princess Carrie story for the hundredth time."
"What are you saying? Are you saying my stories are boring?" Mike began to tickle her.
"No, no, stop. They're not boring." She laughed and Mike chased her around the room. "Ok, maybe a little." Mike caught her as she tried to slip past him. A small rug in front of the fireplace flew out from beneath their feet. They ended up lying on the floor, facing each other and laughing.
Even though he was laughing he couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked in the golden glow of the fire. Laughter soon gave way to passion as they gazed deep into each other's eyes. All Mike could think of was her.
She felt so good in his arms. Carrie looked up at Mike. Her stomach filled with butterflies. These intense feelings had never been there with Austin. Mike brought his head down to hers and she gave into the moment. They were so wrapped up in the thought and feel of each other, that neither one of them saw the small ember fly out onto a stack of magazines. They quickly engulfed in flames. The fire blazed behind them a wall of orange light. It crept along the floor, blocking the only exit from the small cabin.
Mike pulled away to take a breath and gazed down into Carrie's eyes. She reached up and touched his face. "I wish this moment, this feeling, would never end."
A wet strand of blonde hair stuck to Carrie's cheek and Mike brushed it behind her ear. "It doesn't have to." They were about to kiss again when Mike noticed a peculiar odor.
"You smell that?" He looked over his shoulder and saw the wall of fire. He rolled off Carrie and jumped to his feet pulling her with him. Passion had quickly turned to panic. Mike looked around for an exit route and saw his jacket lying on the floor in the bathroom. He flashed back to earlier when he'd jammed the vials into his pocket. Carrie was hypnotized by the flames. Pulling on her hand, she followed him to the bathroom. Mike grabbed his coat and they escaped through the small bathroom window.
Carrie was glad it had stopped raining. Twigs cracked beneath her bare feet as she watched the cabin burn. Mike ran to the car and pulled a blanket out of the trunk. He was making his way back to Carrie when lightening hit the tree above her. A large limb came crashing down causing her to stumble backward. She screamed and disappeared from his view.
"Carrie?!" Oh, God, Mike thought. Please let her be all right. He would do anything for Carrie even give his own life. He ran to where she'd fallen. It was so dark he couldn't see a thing.
Behind the fallen limb was a steep drop off. He looked down but saw only a void. Mike yelled her name but there was no response.

The Union Of Love
Our next scenario that I need submissions for is when Carrie finally realizes that she loves Mike. Here is my example of the moment when Carrie realizes she loves Mike. Please send your scenarios to me at JAXYkat@aol.com. Thanks.
The Hortons and the Bradys are having a Thanksgiving dinner party to celebrate Roman's recovery as well as Jack's release from prison. Seated around the dinner table, everyone is going around in a circle, each telling what they're grateful for.
As Carrie's turn comes up, she thanks God that she was finally able to marry Austin after so long even though he's not there with her to celebrate due to the fact that his nephew Will needed him yet again. She thanks God for finding the cure for her father, and as she looks across the table at Mike, she starts to give thanks for him and his friendship, but trails off as she gazes directly into his eyes. Suddenly she feels like she's having trouble breathing. The longer she looks into his eyes, the more lightheaded she gets. She thinks to herself, "Oh my Gosh! How could I have not realized it? I love him!"
Mike notices that Carrie looks a little dazed and comes around the table to stand beside her. "Carrie, are you al right?" He asks.
"I'm just a little lightheaded," she replies.
"Maybe I should take you into the living room to lay down for a bit," he says, guiding her out of the dining room.
She looks up at him as he sits beside her on the sofa. She thinks back to all the times he's been there for her; remembering buying his sports car, their trip to L. A. where she posed as his girlfriend, and all the times they've danced together. She thinks back to the look in his eyes and realizes he loves her too. He always has.
"Mike, I have a confession to make to you," Carrie looks earnestly up at him. "I think you deserve to know. I love you. I just realized that I've loved you for a while now. I was just so used to loving Austin that I didn't realize that my feelings had changed. I wanted him out of habit and didn't notice what was right before my eyes."
As Carrie looks at Mike with eyes filled with love, she sees the depth of his feelings for her mirrored in his gaze. "Oh Carrie! I've loved you for so long," Mike replies. "I'd almost given up. I tried to tell you on your wedding day, but I realized it wouldn't be right. I want you happy above all else. I couldn't come in the way of that if that meant you marrying Austin."
"You're such a wonderful man, Mike. You're what I'm most grateful for this Thanksgiving," she smiles tremulously as tears fill her eyes. "I only hope that Austin won't hate me too much when I tell him that it's over. He's been so busy with Will lately, though, that I doubt he'll even notice."
"I'm really sorry we'll hurt Austin, Carrie, but I love you. I can't wait to be with you." Mike looks into Carrie's eyes. They lean into eachother to share a kiss as "How Do I Live" plays in the background.
THE END
