this is me infront of the collosseum in rome. it was a great place to be, but we just so happened to catch it on a cold, grey and windy day. also, we had the incredible luck of being in rome the one week of the entire year when they decided to do some renovations, and we could not enter the collesseum under any circumstances! ugh! we even tried scaling a few fences, which proved to be rather difficult! rome as a city, however, was incredibly paradoxical.
it was remarkibly clear from litter, and the locals seemed to carry an unusual sense of pride over that fact. the history and architechture were amazing, and at times breath-taking. nevertheless, there was another astonishing part of rome that took away my breath: the polution!!! it was DISGUSTING!!! the air was filled with a thick dusty and heavy with CO2 smog, and nowhere in rome could you escape the ceaseless disturbing drone of the cars and motorcycles! the abundance of polution alone spoiled anything rome had to offer.
who's this crazy dude? why, it's adam-my-man, my travel partner and best bud! he's grimacing infront of a few "roman ruins", which were kind of neat, sometimes boring, and littered with thousands of really strange aggressive cats!
