Yesterday one of my best friends got married. The ceremony took place at my old favorite late night party place - the Western St. Francis Hotel.
I typically hate weddings, especially WASP wedding where the music is lousy and everyone is so uptight and the only people dancing are kids and old couples. But this wedding was very difficult. It was a party that started at 2 PM and lasted until 3 AM.
We had such a blast it's hard to imagine any of my other friends' future weddings can top this.
At last night's drunken hour, our "minister" TJ and the rest of the wedding parties (I included) had an reenactment of the ceremony and it was simply fabulous. I retired at 4 with my husband while the rest of the crew continued to party on down.
It was as if going back to Western St. Francisco Hotel at late drunken hour was not enough, when my husband tuned in to the radio, it was Donna Lewis singing an old popular song from the mid 90's. As expected, I took a journey down to the memory lane, where in the summer of 1995, all the beautiful and sad stories first got started.
Wow, what can I say , it has been quite a ride. And yes I'm happy to be where I am now. - September 2002
