J o v i   |  The First Month

Jovi now weights about 8+ pounds, measures 21 inches tall.

Cry, Eat, Poop, and Sleep
The major challenge in our first few days of parenting was to establish breast feeding.
Fortunately Jovi learned to latch on pretty fast and Hai-Ping's milk came in on the fourth day.
We thought once we have enough milk to feed him, Jovi wouldn't cry so much.
However, Jovi cries for food every 2 to 2-1/2 hours, and a lot of other times for companionship or who-know-what reasons.
Jovi poops every time during feeding. He soiled and wetted 360+ diapers in his first month.
Jovi does not sleep as much as what we'd like him to. This is especially hard for us at nights.
With a newborn, it is like living in a different world where the clock is set by the baby's stomach instead of days and nights.
Tai-Ran lost 7 pounds in the first week.
Without Hai-Ping's mom here to help, we would have black eyes and be like zombies.

Each day we see Jovi grows, and each day we love him more.
Jovi has lots of facial expression. You see him expressing joy, anger, curiosity, and hunger.
He likes to kick and move his hand around as if he is playing Tai-Chi. He would reach for objects.
He is able to lift and turn his head when on stomach. He would follow your voice, face, or a moving object.
He started making sounds other than crying.
Although infant acne started popping up on his face in the second week, we still think he is a lovely cutie.
