Old stuff, but still interesting....
This page is dedicated to miscellaneous leftovers which were at one time in the "News" section, but have ceased to be timely. Here you'll find articles about ERFS and some of our individual performers, along with other tidbits which are too good to permanently discard. As material is added, it'll be put at the top of the list, so that you don't have to scroll down past items you've already ingested.
The Detroit News had a photographer on hand at the January '98 coffee house, and included a story about us in both the print and online versions of their January 14th, edition. The article presented a brief history of ERFS and told of the coffee house experience, with quotes from Julie Fountain and Leigh Rowland. Also featured were photos of Jim Presley onstage and The Unpleasants practicing before the show.
With the kind permission of The Detroit News, I have reprinted the article here.
Long-time ERFS favorite Julie Fountain was the subject of Craig Garret's Detroit News article about Northville's local history. Julie serves as the township's 'unofficial' historian, and the News article chronicles how she became interested in this field. The piece originally appeared in the January 2nd edition of the paper, but if you missed it, and can read this, then you can take a look at the article in the archives of the Detroit News online.
