A CHIP OFF THE BLOCK

Purple pears call
Pink pairs beckon
Big pears become you
Little shares are welcome
Apples and stairs -- I fall
Fool to feel this way
Numb and cold
Statue - masonry - chipped block
Hammer and chisel shape me
A used tool -- blunt instrument
Stuck in reverse the lights all out
Smashing through the scenery and props
I have no mastery of this car crashing
Smashing - squashing - windscreen splattering
Muttering uttering spluttering
The words fall on the floor
Crawl away and hide in the corner
Refuse to come out and play
I know you’re keen to keep it clean
Cleanse body with chemicals
Wash me away
The water spirals down the plug-hole
circling round and round
Can I get off now
I’m feeling dizzy and sick
Revolve resolve evolve backwards
To become what you’ve never had been
Run forwards
Doorwards ward the warden
Beady eye I in the sky
Sky watching cloud clashing
Star chasing dream smothering
Withered thigh sarcastic sigh
Laugh at me one more time!
