Rudiments of the Peni
(Poe and Lovecraft dance a merry jig)

The Nightgaunts that dwell in my night
I pen a couplet or two
Singlet filled with withering scorn
Doublet with sword pierced
Ear pierced, nose pierced, heart pierced
Peni! Don’t waggle your finger so
Poe get of your knees dear boy
(There is someone at the door!)
Beowulf was such an ‘armless soul
(Mothers do complain so)

Kaleidoscope of dreams now shattered
Tattered, matted tassels
Of curtains long unopened
Door, ward the dark portal
Enter my soul
The feet on the seat of my pants
Like a dog - wolf - dog - wolf
Food, yet still loose weight!
Don’t go so soon
I have yet to begin!

The end is nigh! Tee off
Drive long along long drive ways
To sinister houses in the trees
Where gaunt haunted figures
Sit on their arses
And ne’er open doors!
Portals to other worlds.
Beasties and beastlies
Pile high on the door step
Of HPL.

Mercury, thy feet fly high!
Doth thou think I mad!
Ha! Hat!

Wordsworth may be a wordsmith
But he still bore me
Drill a daffodil into his brain!
Coleridge was just insane!
Wilde was just a sweetie.
Dickens, well he had soul, Boz!

HPL with your unpronounceable friends
How my tongue doth struggle o’er your words!
EAP, how I laugh at yours you maketh up!
RP your babbling ‘duces strangest thoughts!
(Peni! Bash Roman helmets to the rhythm of the word!)

You all dwell with me
In a state ‘twixt life and death
Fantasy and reality clashing
May we all stay forever Yahoo’s

What! You know not of which I speak
Goeth to the LP of RP
So named "Cacophony"
Where the words of Poe and HPL
Are used to ‘duce strange verse
"The sickliest bodies ‘duce the greatest thoughts"
Where life, death and the universe
Flicker, change shape and meaning
‘Fore your very eyes!
EAP - HPL - LP of RP - TB - MC - R.I.P.
EAP - HPL - RP - MC ad nauseam!
