AN APOLOGY

In error words are lightly thrown,
Into the path of one only lightly known.
It is not my usual style or grace,
To throw words like a slap in the face.

I never meant to sound so stupid and crude,
I thought to bring a smile, be risqué and rude.
In fun we all flirt, engage in banter and joke,
And in our friendship, we each hold out a hand of hope.

I never meant to cause upset or hurt,
I am never one to smear the dirt.
Due to my crassness I am now melancholy,
Can I just say, if offense was taken, I am truly sorry.
