- How did I get where I am today?
In a brief summary...
- From as early as I can remember I was detailed and analytical.
My designs for mazes where very complicated.
It would be hard to find your way through the maze from both the start or finish.
- What did I do while growing up?
- Even as a young person I enjoyed drawing horses and faces
and other things. Detailed perspective drawing was the thing I started
doing more of. Things like waves on the sea or roads with telephone poles
going over hills tops, fading away into the distance, or small towns of buildings.
-
In class I took 'photolithography' in which I had to design small booklets.
My one silkscreen cover for a booklet was of eight overlaping colours.
Also in class I took technical drawing.
I asked many questions to learn how to use a 'slide ruler'.
-
Of course I should not forget to say that at about age 10 I came up with the
EyeDa of '3-D Checkers' or dimensionalized Checkers.
It did not materalize until later in life while living on Vancouver Island.
All the games I then developed from that point on and which I got international copywrite on,
followed all of the original rules of the game exactly, so that it would be easy for players
to play the game. Only the moves dimensionaly was what had to be learned.
- How did I choose programming, web development and design?
- I liked the idea of creating something out of nothing
that really did something and then publishing my work for others to benifit.
- Although I enjoy many sports and am physically active,
I enjoy working on the computer.
- Some say you can't be a programmer and a designer.
Programming uses one side of the brain in analytical thinking, while designing
uses the other side. I enjoy both and my past history which is only described
just a little bit here, proves it. Take a look at what the two sides of brain are here
.
- If you where to ask me: 'What COLOUR are you?'
I would tell you that when I first took programming I was
Green/Orange.
Green is a inventor and analytical
Orange is a spontaneous and a designer
However now my colours are Green/Gold.
Take the
test your self and find out what those colours mean.
I did not write the psychology behind the program that I wrote, but I did study
psychology and it makes sense.
- Programming is:
-breaking something down to it's smallest parts
-making an object out of each of the smallest parts so that the code can be reused.
-being concerned about how it WORKS
- Designing is:
-making something look attractive
-making the page or program 'user friendly'
-being concerned about how it LOOKS
