Maggie Inside Out
(working title)
This mainstream novel covers the journey of a middle-aged woman who is
thought by others to be mildly retarded. In reality, Maggie is quite
intelligent, but a childhood accident and the subsequent abandonment by her
mother drove Maggie inward. Coupled with guilt and insecurity, she has found
it increasingly difficult to communicate her thoughts clearly to
the outside world. When a family crisis hits, Maggie is finally forced to
confront the inner demons that have held her prisoner for more than thirty
years. Follow the above link for a sample scene.
