Years ago I was visiting people
in Emporia, Kansas. My friend since High School and I got to see each other
for the first time in quite awhile. When our brief initial reunion was
ending, he emphatically and simply stated "you should write a song about
the ascension called, Sandals in the Sky," as he walked out the door. I
was left there alone thinking what sandals in the sky? Then it hit me...
oh, "those" sandals in the sky. I sat down and quickly came up with the
lyrics and melody to this song about the assencion of our resurrected Lord,
Jesus Christ. This is a fun song.
