week since i started my new job as Director of Recreation, and its really fun and challenging and a chance to be creative..my really cool boss Steve said i could express my creativity, and paint the office all funky...there wil definately be some butterflies and maybe even a mural! My really creative and tallented friend Cheryl has written a childrens book which she has asked me to illustrate...so maybe it will get published and we will both be famous, or at least maybe we'll make it to Barnes N Nobles! So finally after months and months i have added a few new things to my long neglected website. hopefully soon there will be some new poets donating some interesting work (hint hint). PS... I am trying to find an old VW bug...if u know anyone trying to sell one, please email me (i would especially love if it was green or purple). |

FRIDAY JUNE 30th After an eternal (but lively) day at work, followed by an emotional confrontation with someone, I decided to go out for a Carmel frappicio with my friend Greg. Oh, and some shopping too, which always never fails to elevate my spirits. Greg and I ended up a the Newtown Starbucks, on this beautiful summer night..it was actually chilly. We drove around (real fast...and yes I was wearing my seatbelt) listening to Gregs obscure music collection (Greg will never purchase any music found on the popular CD rack).That was followed by a restless night of strange dreams, including one, where I was working for my old employer again, Maria, in an advertising agency in New Hope, on Main Street, and another where Cathys sister had eloped with her boyfriend, and was holding the reception in her house. In the dream I could not get any sleep, and I had to work the next day. My dreams were invariably interrupted throughout the night, by hangups on my answering machine. It seems that people just love to call my machine at 2 in the morning, wake me up, and hang up on it! Tonight I will turn the ringer off! |

SatuRdAy JuLy First Tonight Annabel and i went to a performance-art event in Chestnut Hill. As we approached the house where it was being held,the sound of drums could be heard growing louder. In the living room, there were drums and instraments of every kind, on the walls, and along the rooms perimiter. A circle of people sat in the rooms center |

, drumming and singing etc. There were those relaxation fountains, and the whole scene was very "new age". The actual performance was held in the basement of the house, which had been set up like a mini theatre. There was some comedy, some music Therapy, as well as weird performance art stuff...it was actually quite surreal. |

SuNdAy JulY 2nd Diana and i went out for a drink this evening, and not only did i get carded, but i had to sign a declaration of age!!! It was a beautiful night...we had two glasses of merlot at this little outdoor bar in Newtown. Diana, informed me that she had recently touched a lock of George Washingtons hair! She honestly did...Diana works in a historic Library which was founded by George Washington himself, and they just happen to have a lock of his hair in the vault (DoNateD bY hiS BaRbEr)...Diana told me she was surprised at the color..it was a blondish color with some grey in it. |

Then Charlie picked me up and we headed to Westfield, to go to a very wild and craZy garden bbQ at Cathys. I got to meet Irene, the girl who sinks, and shultzie, Cathys German ex~boyfriend, who had just flown in from Germany tonight, and was mad tired. We drank strawberry dacquries, and caronas (sp?), and had veggie burgers!!! Then we saw the most extraordinary fireworks display in Cranford NJ...it was absolutely beautiful!. |

ThursdaY JuLy 6th These Roses under my window make no reference
to former roses or to better ones;
they are for what they are;
they exist with God today.
There is no time for them.
There is simply the rose;
it is perfect in every moment of its existance
....But man postpones or remembers;
he does not live in the present, but with reverted eye
laments the past, or heedless of the riches that surround him,
stands on tiptoe to forsee the future.
He cannot be happy and strong until he too
lives with nature in the present,
above time.

SaTuRDaY JuLy 8th I was in the small town where I live, getting a Carmel skim latte, on my way to catch the train to NYC, and I am standing there, and some guy comes up behind me and is babbling something about his friends across the street and some party that they wanted to invite me to...I was thinking "is this weirdo talking to me??". I turned around and it was Ryan Bushnel, someone I graduated HS with, and who used to live in the house directly behind mine, and who moved away years ago. He was shocked when he recognized me, and it was weird that he didn't even realize he knew me, and here he was hitting on me in a coffee shop. So Ryan had a beard, and looked a little burnt, and is now living in Ft Lauderdale Florida, in the everglades, where he dose some sort of landscaping. We had the biggest conversation we ever had in all the years I knew him (we did not speak to each other in HS, just one of those things I guess). It was bizarre...he gave me his E-mail address, and I ran off to catch my train.
So I arrived in NYC and Cathy picked me up infront of Penn Station, and we headed down to Washington Square park, where there was some performance art thing going on, and a huge crowd had gathered. There was a huge gathering of people playing chess, and there was one man doing his laundry in the public water fountain. Cathy and I ate at a Greek restaurant, had a drink, and then wandered around NYU, we met this artist from Peru, who told us stories of when he was a pimp, and dated a prostitute...and told about some of the celebrities he has met...he was selling his art along the fence of NYU, and apparently the college has given him permission to do so, since he has been around for so many years.
We met up with Irene, and two friends of hers, and went to a bar. We were planning on crashing some big party which none of us were really invited, but we had to wait for our "connection" to show up, so we stopped for a drink. Cathy got groped by some drunk guy, and we met some really drunk girls in the bathroom who were comparing the size of their breasts and barking at each other.
So finally we made it to the party, which was mad packed, and supposedly there was a famous band there ("heavy D"?), but it was too hot so we stayed on the upper level. Some guy made us this Brazilian drink...it was very different. We met some cool people there, and hung out until about 12:00, and then decided to head over to Webster Hall. Everyone was tired so it was just Cathy , Irene and myself who went. The cover was $25, and we got frisked at the door (and I mean frisked!!!)...they searched my entire purse, and when I walked in the door, some guy approached me asking for Zanax (sp?). There were a lot of freaks there, we danced the entire time, paid $10 for a drink.we danced until 3:30 in the morning, and made it back to Cathys Apartment by 5:00am.

SunDaY July 9th Woke up this morning at Cathys, after only 4 hours of sleep, and we headed to the Westfield Bagel shop...they have the best bagles and bakery items! We drove home to PA, and went swimming in Cathys aunts inground pool...it was beautiful...though we spend an hour vaccumning and cleaning the pool B4 we could go in it. Kristen came over too, and told us all about her trip to Finland..and Cathys sister Jenny rode over on a motorcycle with her boyfriend and hung out a while. I spent most of the time floating around on a raft thingy, getting some sun and looking at the clouds..it was so peaceful...we are going to make it a ritual everyother weekend routine...Clubbing in NYC and then the pool on Sundays to chill b4 the week starts. I saw my dream car on the way home, 4 Sale a purple and blue souped up VW Bug...i called for info and its $4,500 , so im figuring out how i can scrape together some $$! |

TuEsDaY JuLy 11th Cathy and I went to the red Hot Chili Peppers concert at the Camden E Centre...Cathy arrived to my house, ate dinner real quick and we jumped into my car...Kristen called us on the way to tell us she was stuck in traffic (with our tickets and the beer!), ! |

so Cathy and I ended up arriving first, to the most massive tailgate party I had ever seen. As we wandered through the maze of Nitrous balloons, porta potties and staggering drunken teenagers, Cathy and I were offered beer by several different guys, until finally we accepted one, which we had to hide from the police as we continued to walk around. Eventually we located Kristen and Rick, and his 3 friends, and had our own tailgate party, then headed into the concert which had already begun....it was a beautiful night, and there were about 10 thousand people there! We danced, screamed, sang and stirred up our own mosh pit! |

WeDnEsDay, July 12th Sharon (My very talented Artist Friend) came over tonight and we cracked open my bottle of scotch, the one that Kristen and Cathy lugged back for me from Edinburgh Scotland. I had been saving it for a "special" occasion, but I realized I was really just waiting for someone else who likes to drink Scotch, so I wouldn't be drinking alone!!!

ThUrSdAy JulY 13th Well, Kevin Blane Vaughn, the famous poet and I, headed over to Preston Harrsons "50th Birthday Bash" at Jon and Peters. When I walked in with my balloon which read "happy 5oth birthday" etc...I was informed that this was the 3rd year that Preston was 50. I should have known that, shouldn't I, I mean, I was at a few of his other 50th birthday parties (there goes my long term memory). Of corse my EX boyfriend was scheduled to play, and the thought of seeing him there did not excite me in the least. I was lucky because he didn't show up until 10:45, just as I was leaving (no coincidence there). When I returned home my mailbox had been run over, and was lying at a 45 degree angel to the ground....hmmmmmm wonder who could have done that?????! |

Friday, JuLy 14th Today is Bastille Day, and my recreation Dept. Threw a big family party complete with croissants, creme puffs, petti fours, brie, and french bread. I built an 8ft eiffel tower in the main dining room (constructed of cardboard, and adorned with white lights) which stood in the center or the room. There were decorations everywhere, some of which were made by the residents, and millions of red white and blue balloons. We were expecting the Newspaper to show up, but they didnt make it, but I will be sending them some pictures, so keep an eye out! The residents had a really good time.
Spent the evening at Annabels house..a quiet evening, but definate quality time together, and I got my own private concert! We drank lots of latte and coffee and cappiccino, and we transcended the boundaries of space and time, and poetry. |

SaturDaY July 15Th Lunch at the historic David Library with Diana today (who came close to giving me her "Poison Oak" lol.
Hung out with the bohemian poet group in Trenton tonight, Edwin Long The Third, Kevin Blane Vaughn Jr, and Edwins 18 year old girl companion. Ed and I finally got the chance to talk, we were surprised to find that we had known eachother for so many years and never had a real conversation....Ed said it was because my friends scared him...especially when they went around biting other individuals, and asking if they had some "good Nazi blood in them".(!) Edwin suggested we all get a house together to feed off eachothers creative energy, and have cheep rent and property....i always have believed that artists become more creative when exposed to the energy of other creative people. We had a great time, hung out in some dive bar, and then a diner..it was a good time, and a late night (for me, but I think they could have talked all night)...i got home around 4am.

WeeK oF JuLy 17-22nD!
Alas, I have neglected my online diary ...as I have been busy off living my life, lol. I will attempt to catch up with the past week, which started off with a house I checked out on Tues (I think) as a possible location for our "Bohemian Enclave". The place was on the outskirts of Trenton, and smelled like cat urine...otherwise it was a very good deal. |

I attended Open Mic, and Poetry readings this week, hung out with my sweetest friend Nancy, and a hot date with Kristen who is moving away to Boston (on Tues ,wahhh!) Kristen and I ate sushi at this Japanese restaurant in Lambertville, where we sat outside and drank a huge ass bottle of wine (Merlot), and ate fried bananas and vanilla ice cream. Afterward we stumbled through the town and ended up at this bar where they had live music, and we ran into Lauren Race (Who rode the bus with us in H.S., and who's brother was the bartender.) I had to work this weekend as the administrator (the dept heads take turns on weekends), so it was a new experience, but I love my job, as always...I work with a lot of cool people. I wrote a few poems this week, and I purchased my "famous Author Neighbor" Brent Monahans new novel "The Jekyl Island Club" (only $23.95 in the new novels section of Barnes N Nobles). His book has already sold out of its initial printing of 10,000 hard cover copies!! I intend to get mine personally autographed by the author :)~
Tonight I will most likely go into old city philly with Cathy and Charlie...I have to work tomorrow again, but I cant imagine staying home and sitting still. I broke my sun roof this afternoon...the switch disappeared into the console when I opened it! Luckily, fiddling with it, I was able to get it closed, but it will stay closed now, until I get it fixed!!! |

I have experienced two losses this week, beginning with Monday...i came into work to find that a resident i had been visiting just the afternoon before, had passed away over the night (she seemed fine just the day before.) |

My oldest friend and neighbor moved away on Tuesday..packed her stuff and left for Boston. As i was mourning her departure (over some shopping trips) i happened upon her brother (Jon) in the parkinglott of WalMart, driving Kristens old camery. Jon asked if i would be going to the Urban Word (How did he know that i went there regularly??!), and informed me that his friends were playing at the open Mic, so Jon and i ended up going out for a while (an interesting turn of events)...kind of weird, because i had never run into jon ever before in 13 years, and its bizarre concurrance with kristens leaving was a little freaky!
Today i ate lunch with Pete, my coworker (i owe him 2 lunches now, lol)...we ate fattening pizza, and got soaked in the torrential rain. I am looking forward to eating Indian food this weekend!!! |

Friday, OCTOBER 20th
Alas! I have neglected my website for way too long, but i am in LOVE!!!!(but..."excuses are the tools of the weak and incompetant...") So much, has transpired in the past 3 months, that i will not backtrack, but go fourth and on to new things. Hopefully i havent lost your loyal attentions. I have now been dating Pete, my above mentioned coworker/boyfriend for 3 months now and he is soooooooo SWEET! I am also in the midst of packing and moving to my very first, and very own apartment. I am excited and nervous, as i am moving in a week and a half, and still have some mad packing to accomplish. All i can tell you is it's in the city, with a beautiful view of the ghetto (9 stories high!)...really huge windows and shiny hardwood floors...no roomates, so i can walk around naked or have overnight guests, WOOHOO! |

Sunday, OCTOBER 29th Hey all my butterfly followers, i am here to fill you in on the events of the weekend...well Friday started off with Pete and i attending a Punk Rock show "Bouncing Souls", at The Stone Pony, in Asbury Park. The next morning we ate doughnuts and bagles at the beach, then headed to Grandmas in Ocean Grove, to attempt to remove my new bed from the third floor. Grandma was all nervous, and ended up going out, which was a good thing, since we ended up having to suspend the box-spring (which weighed a million tons) over the second floor porch, and lowering it to the ground. With the help of my cousin Liam, Pete and i got the bed out, and got it all the way to PA. Sat night, we went to see The Exorcist (very scary), and when we arrived home, we were frightened by a bat, which flew out of the trees at us, at which point i shoved Pete in front of me, before taking off for the house, leaving Pete in a trail of butterflydust! Sunday morning we woke up bright and early, went for a drive, some shopping, listened to Marc Anthony in Spanglish, and went horseback riding in Tyler Park (an interesting experience to say the least). Now there is much packing to be done (2 days till moving day!!!)

MONDAY, November 20th Well, i am finally all moved in to my new apartment. I am loving living in the city, and waking up in the morning to the sunrise and the beautiful view out my 9th story window. I adopted a kitty this weekend from The Womans Humane society...she does not have a name yet (i have a few ideas), and right now she is being Spayed, so i get to pick her up on Wed!!! It will be nice to have some animal companionship...she is such a sweetheart...at the shelter we got to spend some quality time with her, and she comes right over when you call her, and right into my lap...she is small with big beautiful green eyes.! The animals there were so starved for attention, it was sad, i wanted to take all of them home with me!!! I am already thinking about getting another!!! I just found out that my cousin Emma , is going to appear on an episode of Sesame Street in December!What happened was they sent her photo in (the one on the right) and they picked her to be on the show! If they like her, she will become a regular character on the show! Whats funny is, That i took that photo of her, last Dec. almost a year ago this time, and when i took it i told her that i was going to "Make her famous!"..so i guess i was right!!!

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27th Well my new kitty "Jezabelle" is sweeter than everr, and adjusting just wonderfully to her new surroundings. She did however acquire an upper respiratory infection, just 2 days after coming home, and we took a trip to the vet for some medicine, which she detests. Thanksgiving was really nice this year, we ate at Grandmas house, and all of my cousins were there, and although i do not eat Turkey (or any other dead animal carcus) i enjoyed the side dishes, wine and the company! I also got to visit with my friend Susanne , who was in town from chicago, which was nice, and we drank some wine and caught up on stuff. Since she is working in NYC the next few weeks, i will probably stay in her hotel once or twice, so we can have a wild NYC girls night out! Pete and i had our 4 month anniversary (WOOHOO), which we celebrated late, since he had been away for Thanksgiving...its pathetic that we are apart for 2 days, and miss eachother SOOOOO much! But i cant help it, He is SO cute!!! |

MONDAY, April 3rd I'm sitting here in my apartment with my Lovie Pete...i know i have left you all in the dark for months now. All i can tell you at the present time is, PETE IS THE ONE, and big things are happening (it's a secret!). We are drinking Merlot, so excuse any typos! Jezabelle is doing great, Pete is playing with her now, so that she dosen't get into a craze later, and start breaking things. Soon Petes poetry will appear on my "colaboration poetry page", so stay tuned! His hair is getting real long and curly...it's so cute! Thats all for now. Send me your poems! Love ButterflyDust! |
